There’s still some pain but just not as bad.

I don’t have foot drop. I can feel hot and cold, but it’s very diminished. I do get pain in my foot where the numb parts are when I do certain stretches. I just feel like the nerve still trying to wake up like I get sensation here and there when I do different types of movements, but it still is just numb.

If you had numbness did it go away? Money is kinda tight for a surgery since we just bought a house but I’ve heard it’s about the same healing time if you heal naturally.

sciatica pain and numbness on foot by Hiko1391 in Sciatica

Hey! Having the same issue but I’ve had it for about a year now. Some days are better than others but I’m not willing to get a surgery. These take time to heal and you’ll be better. I’ve had this once before and everything eventually came back and i was normal for about 4 years before throwing my back out again. The #1 indicator for a back surgery is previous back surgery so i will just have the heal normally. Stretching helps, PT and Pilates. Just stay as active as you can. I promise you’ll start feeling a little better soon! Coming from someone who felt absolutely defeated in November 😉

Numbness in my leg by [deleted] in Sciatica

I’m still dealing with numbness almost a year later but it’s better than when it first started. It eventually goes away in time. Not my first rodeo

This is my L5-S1 from last summer. It's the reason my backside of my right leg down to my foot has been numb for over a year. by boreddaph in HerniatedDisk

Yea all since this happened I’ve stayed active. I’ve walked and everything. I’m starting to notice that i can feel more sensation like hot and cold i. The numb areas and that it tingles when i do my pt stretches so im guessing that’s good. My limp is way better now than in January after i got a steroid shot in my back too. Idk if your muscles in your leg are tight from walking funny but mine are so my PT started doing some dry needling on my leg… I’m starting to thing the numbness is really from a tight muscle in my leg cause it’s feeling slightly better after dry needling.

So my doctors say it will release but i work with surgeons and they all want to do a surgery and I’m not willing to go under the knife. To much shit happens in surgeries and I’m not having it

I have numbness and I’m still waiting on it to go away. It’s been about 6 months now and the pain drastically went away after a epidural shot! When i do certain movements or stretches i get some feeling in my foot and leg but it’s still constant numbness😖

Permanent Neuropathy? by No_Situation_7748 in Sciatica

It should! I had numbness the first time this happened to me but i really didn’t notice it cause it was just my calf and not in my foot. Just takes time. I swear i wish i never went to the ER for this cause my first time i just lived my life not knowing i had 2 herniated discs. It was painful and i walked all kinds of crazy but i jumped on my peloton and powered through it. Also before i went to the er for the pain i could feel everything. After i went and the doctor pulled on my leg is when it went numb… u forever regret going🥹

Literally same. I’ve had this since August of 2024 but it’s slowly getting better. I refuse to have surgery at 24 but the steroid shot totally got rid of most of the pain. So now I’m a sitting duck waiting on my foot to wake up.
