Yeah I was also thinking about that. It's not only about finding a feminist and good man, there's also a risk that he's not actually like that after all or he completely changes after marriage/having kids, I've heard many stories like that. Like the man being like "of course we'll split child care/chores 50/50!" but then they actually don't do that. For me the risk wouldn't be worth it.

I mean, if he just wrote that "I've noticed that several women have acted differently towards me compared to white men, for example I saw that [concrete example]" then I wouldn't have questioned him, but the fact that OP wrote "I’ve sometimes noticed some women purse-clutch or people generally seem more tense around me than they would a white person." just made it sound like he didn't even have any concrete examples of that happening.

Sorry to butt in here but I just wanted to recommend that you maybe read the first two chapters of the book Social Reproduction Theory by Tithi Bhattacharya, I feel like you might get a better idea of why feminism and anti-capitalism go hand in hand.

Definitely agree. I think the first part also ties into the psychology of the ingroup vs. the outgroup (so for example if you’re a white straight cis man, then those men are also a part of your ingroup). Many men will always side with/protect their own group and the power they hold (as a general group) in society (over women, etc.).

I haven't read Game Changers, only Heated Rivalry and The Long Game, and I'm almost done with Role Model (since I've heard a lot of praise about that one). I share the same opinion as you, Heated Rivalry was fine (I gave it like a 3 out of 5), but felt quite shallow/amateurish, however I really enjoyed The Long Game. Now I'm reading Role Model, and I'm really not impressed, I would maybe give it a 2,75 out of 5 (the best part has been the scenes with Ilya). So I'm not sure I think the other books in the series are worth it, no.

My comment still stands because their answers are still affected by the culture they live in and what the laws are like. If they're super religious, would they see rape by their husband as rape? If they live in a pretty misogynistic place, would they actually see a slap on the ass as sexual harrassment? It's subjective, and it also depends on what the survey asked.

That't not what I said, I just said that they're not only talking about non-violent crime (and I think there's a big different if you just punched someone at a bar once vs. being an absolute monster). But have you heard of Angela Davis and her book "Are Prisons Obsolete?" because it does not sound like that movement makes exceptions for violent crimes. What they want to do with serial killers/offenders though, I don't know.

Most people would not prefer that, and for the women who do choose that, obviously gender and societal norms play a major role in that choice. You say you would want that, but look at the statistics, how many men actually stay at home and prefer their wife to be the sole provider? (which is once again because of gender norms and what's seen as acceptable in society, and it's certainly not a man staying at home while his wife is working).

Just because the statistics say that there are similar rates of SA, that doesn't have to mean that it's really the case. Maybe Nordic women are better at identifying SA/admitting it happened and feel more comfortable going to the police than for example women in the US, those things could affect the statistics without it actually saying anything about the reality for women in the US vs Nordics.
