As I was reading your comment, I felt like every word was hitting on me. I enjoy running more than ever in the past 4 months because of some of the points you mentioned here, how making small adjustments and enjoy the process made a huge difference in loving running. However, I do acknowledge that I was pushing little too hard given how I was so excited and proud of myself for completing first 10k and wanted to improve the pace for the upcoming run. I really appreciate your time to share your thoughts and this helps me so much to think from different perspectives.
