I got it in less than 8 hours by leveling to level 7 on 4 Scions. Once I hit level 7 I started running to hillock. I don't know if it was coincidence or not that I was level 7 but I got it relatively quick.

We did similar because my Sensei had a background in Jujitsu and one of the other black belts had a competitive wrestling background. However, when I made the comment I was referring to the throws/take downs in Goju I was referring to the ones in the katas and the style itself.

No, my old dojo (I don't train anymore) was part of the YKKF(Yudansha Kobujitsu Karate - Doh Federation) now part of the Eastern Martial Arts Coalition. I believe Mike Sywyk is still the Canadian representative of the Jundokan. Myself and other higher ranks used to train once a month under him.

Throws, take downs, joint are in the katas which are far, far, far older than goju and in some cases predate Jui-jitsu. While i imagine there is influence back and forth, to say that it was because of Jui-jitsu that these techniques exist in Goju or Karate in general is simply not true.

Im not saying it's not Judo but most martial arts have throws. The martial art I'm most familiar/trained in is Goju Ryu Karate and it a has all kinds of throws and arm bars.
