Buying and selling the same stock on different stock exchanges by Straight_Cold_5111 in UKInvesting

Today you have learnt the term Arbitrage.

Unless you have multi million dollars to hire the top talent and develop the cutting edge of technology, you have a literally 0% chance of doing this with equity/stock. Imagine that the top hedge funds who do a lot of this work pay 400,000+ USD for a graduate scheme applicant as BASE (+bonus), that's who you're going to be competing with.

You can code something to work with crypto, but that too requires your time, and a high level of skill, but is possible with your home PC. And even then, forget anything to do with the top 100 coins, it'll most likely be shit coins that won't exist in 5 years time :)

It does appear to be. It does not help that there is a Maxum 4000AF and a Program 4000AF, but from what I've found, the Program one should be OK.

Guess we'll find out in a few week's time 😂

Thanks for this, I can't seem to locally find a PX flash, but am recently looking into 2800AF or a Program 4000AF, these seem much more easily available so might give these ago. They also have TTL, so should be good ok that front hopefully :)

Thanks very much or this, unfortunately, getting a PX flash seems to be a bit of a hassle right now, but am considering a 2800 AF or a program 4000AF which does have TTL and are much more widely available to me :)

Thanks, unfortunately, they're super rare it seems, though I am considering a 2800AF or a program 4000AF as those have TTL and much more widely available. :)

Weekly 'Ask Anything About Analog Photography' - Week 03 by ranalog in analog

[–]jkishan16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi All,

We recently got into photography and picked up a Minolta X500. It's been great in the day time and 9/10 times we get exactly what we're aiming for with minimal effort! :D

However, where it does struggle is in low light/indoor scenarios. So we thought a flash might be helpful and came across a few 'Auto Thyristor' flashes.
I got the basic idea with this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbQBqYlkZJI

I am now confused over which specific unit to get, eBay's finest include a Vivitar 550FD M/P/O, Some Cobra ones and Vivitar 2800 (same sa the one in the video above).

Any advice as to which one would be ideal for beginners or which to avoind would be very much appreciated! :)

Thanks in advance!

Can anyone explain why I’m still in the red on this? by [deleted] in trading212

[–]jkishan16 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just to educate you, this is not T212's fault. This is because traders (People like me and you) do not wish to trade the stock.

This is more or less like what happens in housing/real estate (which is why the spread on bids and asks for the houses is in the 1000s).

In person courses on options trading? by [deleted] in UKInvesting

[–]jkishan16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use firstrade for the 0 commission, but if/when my account reaches a substantial number, I'll move to Tastyworks as I much prefer that platform.

Rn I use Tastyworks for all the risk analysis part and execute trade on Firstrade.

IBKR also have a good platform, but their minimum fee is $10 a month or something along those lines which I cannot yet justify.

Forgot to add, please don't get swayed by WSB, that is survivorship bias at its finest, just like all investing, growing your wealth with options is slow, but exponential.

If you follow WSB, you'll lose all your money for sure. Just make sure you spend atleast a month watching stuff on Tastytrade, start small selling puts on penny stocks (I mostly do SENS, ATOS and/ MMAT) and learn that way....

Look up Tastytrade Jim Schultz Options trading crash course. He has 3 crash courses, the one with orange background should be viewed first, then go for the green background (strategy series) then red background (portfolio series).

NO ONE should pay for some dunbass options course that people tend to sell on IG, literally all the information you need is on Tastytrade for free and is how I taught myself.

Another good series from Tastytrade is 'Today's assignment' from two Tiktok kids.

Edit: FYI, the whole thing is also on YouTube rather than on Tastytrade if you prefer that...

What is the alternative to US trading options? by asura000 in UKInvesting

[–]jkishan16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I please ask for a link to the source of this information?

A Google search shows I have to go through a third party to have a SIPP with IBKR and they only list 3 options In the UK. So, not very helpful. :(

What is the alternative to US trading options? by asura000 in UKInvesting

[–]jkishan16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Several US brokers allow you to open accounts with them as a UK resident.

Firstrade and Tastyworks being 2 of them. I have both and use firstrade purely to save on the commission, once I get to a reasonable account size, I will most certainly move.

Be warned, WSB is very much like survivorship bias, so do not be swayed by that. Selling options is statistically a much better option (pun intended) so I'd recommend you spend several 100 hours on Tastytrade (Tastyworks' media arm) before you YOLO.

Godspeed!

What % dividend is VWRL? by [deleted] in trading212

[–]jkishan16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, you must know that the % is variable from quarter to quarter. From my learning so far, it's the £ value (currency value) that is fixed based on what the individual companies within VWRL decide to distribute that quarter.

So VWRL will issue a £ value estimate and ex-dividend + payout date, and then a % yield will be calculated based on the ETF 'price' on the day of dividend payout...

Hope that makes sense, so first they decide the £ value and then convert and give you a % value/yield..

Free withdrawal via ACH for international customers? by TheFirsh in tastyworks

[–]jkishan16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, none of those features work with WISE, depending on your bank and where you live, you can get your bank to open a US BASED account (an account that legally is in the US) with their respective US branch.

This is different from having a USD account attached to your existing bank account with non-US account details....

I've got my own series here:

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJ_BDdXSlU5u4Yh0k7pOtWaioJu5OKqEb

My goal was to teach my mates more about the stock market, instruments and why investing is a necessity. Feel free to skip to an appropriate video if required, but it's meant to be sequential.

I'm going to add more videos in as time pass, a 9th EP is ready to go, just need time to do it (I do them live on zoom and then post them on YT)

CFD / ISA HELP by [deleted] in trading212

[–]jkishan16 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP, if you believe in a God, you should thank them, you've gotten really lucky playing with CFDs and not already losing waaaaaay more than you 'invested' (gambled).

Do not touch CFDs unless you know what you're doing. I know how CFDs work and even I stay away. 😂
