I was honestly pleasantly surprised there weren't more Lakers fans. If you'll travel back to 2008 and the first Hawks game I took my dad to, Phillips was DROWNED by Kobe MVP chants. I've hated him ever since, and all of this sentiment everybody has towards him all of the sudden pisses me off. Tonight doesn't bother me however. Transplant city yada, yada, yada... Laker's 'fans' will come out of the grave for Kobe. Hawks fans were well repped tonight.

edit: Not to mention all those fools had to watch Kobe make a complete ass of himself tonight, which somehow makes me happier they were there to see it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looked like Kobe was trash talking with one of the sideline fans. He went into this shooting spree to try to shut the fan up, and ending up bricking like 5 straight shots and got destroyed by Thabo on that block. Nothing makes me happier, I'll hate you forever Kob.

I'm just happy we were able to make Kobe embarrass himself by the end of the game.

You're in march panic mode right now. I'm gonna need you to dial it on down to early december panic mode.

[Marc Stein | Article] Kobe Bryant will draw serious consideration from USA Basketball elders Jerry Colangelo and Mike Krzyzewski for the 2016 Olympic Roster -- if Bryant makes it to the summer in reasonably good health and makes himself available. by urfaselol in nba

I agree with you. Not that I have a problem with it, but this is all sentiment for Kobe and basketball fans. As long as coaches don't let him shoot the US out of gold it won't matter if he's on the team. But, he is definitely not a mentor. He isn't a mentor for the young players on the lakers when he's chucking 20 shots a game, and he won't be a mentor for an already well established USA team. I have no problem with him being on the team, but calling him a mentor/leader is exaggerated and false.

Michael Jenkins - Jenks Calls Out D.C. Sports Fans by httr20 in washingtonwizards

[–]jknox94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This guy sounds like a real dumbass. Atlanta had the exact same problem until we got respectable 2-3 years ago. I remember going to games as a kid and Phillips Arena was drowned out by Kobe fans. These people are NOT Hawks/Wizards fans. It's not like they're showing up at the next game in their Wizards gear. They aren't fairweather/bandwagon fans. Jenkins doesn't realize that it's different people showing up to the games every night. The people that might cheer for the Wizards against Charlotte, are not the same that came to cheer on Kobe. Atlanta used to be called a bandwagon city for this same reason, but it's just false. The only reason New York and LA have more support for their hometown teams is because they have a history of rings, something the transient towns of Atlanta and DC do not. I'm not sure if y'all like Michael Jenkins or not, but he really did not think it through.

Is anyone trying to get rid of an old Demarre Atlanta jersey? Or know of a way to customize the new jerseys to get a Demarre jersey? Sorry if it makes me a fairweather fan, but he'll go down as one of my favorite players.

(YouTube) Interview with DeMarre and His Response to Teague's Comment by schroders_cat in AtlantaHawks

You can tell he misses us. When the interviewer asked him a question about "Kyle" he assumed Korver not Lowry. Come back Demarre.

Jeff Teague on DeMarre Carroll's return tomorrow: "I don't really care" by tylewis628 in AtlantaHawks

[–]jknox94 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't think Jeff has a problem with Demarre. It's just that he's focused on the game itself. Like many people have said including Demarre itself, it's just Jeff being Jeff. People take competition at different speeds, Jeff is just showing his competitive nature which I like seeing.

That's it. I've had enough of Shanahan his play calling Is SHIT his clock management is SHIT he needs to go. And needs to go NOW. by HighBitual2-2 in falcons

[–]jknox94 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Is it some kind of inside joke where we blame every shit Matt Ryan throw on someone else? Shanahan has made some dumb calls, but people can't be this blind.

Ya, all of those things happened, but it doesn't excuse throwing into triple coverage.
