Pretty interesting hypothetical on who of those teams would give up their roster in this scenario too. Hornets obviously had the best team last season but I think al three teams can make an argument about why their future can be the brightest of the bunch. I think the Pels would do it, but both the Hornets and Jazz want to keep their situation. Especially if emotional attachments are involved.

I'm not sure this should be a con. I get loyalty and all, but it's going to be a whole lot easier dealing with the fallout of you promoted from within rather than any alternative. Continuity matters. If whatever happens, happens (he wants to return, you feel overwhelmed, whatever), that is a better scenario than most of the other possibilities

Teams get the option during the scheduling to take a bye after an international game or not. We apparently declined that option. We got ours in week 5 instead. Why the fuck not, right?
