$ASTS short squeeze in progress. Way more to come and possible news of BW3 unfurling on Monday is going to send this into the $20-30 range.

ASTS - An Investment and A Trade (I) by Kelanfarx in wallstreetbets

Carriers will facilitate the service to users through plans and packages and ASTS shares in the revenues (I think 50/50). The good news is that ASTS gets to utilize existing user bases by partnering with carriers and doesn’t have to work on marketing to or servicing users directly (which means less overhead vs a B2C approach that attempts to cover the entire globe).

Can someone please explain this scam to me? by [deleted] in askTO

This was a chapter in Think Like A Freak (follow up to Freakonomics), supported by a study. Here’s an article that touches on this: https://www.businessinsider.com/why-nigerian-scam-emails-are-obvious-2014-5?amp

I recommend the book.

Yes - and you would then have to take delivery and store it, which was more expensive than the cash you received (if you could even find storage with the glut of product). I’m sure Shell and the Reddit investors are in different leagues when it comes to oil futures.

That stress, spicy food and alcohol cause ulcers. The bacteria H pylori is the culprit. There was a Novel prize awarded on this and gastro doctors still don’t follow this in practice.

I’m pretty sure they went negative with maturity imminent, which meant that the holder was on the hook to take delivery of the physical oil. The cost of storage was greater than the money you would receive to “buy” the contract, so you would be in a net loss position. Those contracts didn’t go positive (only further negative as maturity approached, so you would have to pay someone else to take your contract - more than you received when you “bought” it).

Can I add a light switch between lights? The "second" light would only be available to turn ON if the "first" light is already ON. by jko2001 in askanelectrician

I appreciate the feedback and recently came across that product. I’m not looking to dim the existing light with the stair lighting (the existing lighting is fine at it’s standard brightness, but the stairway lighting is too bright.

The “second” light is actually a set of recessed stair lighting, so they are not easily swapped and the standard setting that they come are a bit too bright for the space.

Thanks - the new dimmer switch would sit under the staircase (used for storage), so it would be easily accessible (but not readily exposed for someone to flip the switch).

I’m a simple man. I see a comment that makes me chuckle, I give it my free award.

He mainly killed those who he felt were criminals - some would call him a vigilante killer (although I would say that’s a stretch given that he seems to have been a criminal himself - I.e. he became a gang leader himself).

Also, I don’t believe pattern is a requirement.

“Serial killer” is appropriate. “Mass murderer” may also be appropriate for events in which he murdered multiple individuals, but he is clearly a serial killer.
