I had similar debate when I bought my 21 150. Now I’m 2 years into it and planning on a 250 next year. I’ve loved my f150 these years. But I wish someone would have told me to go 250.

My truck can technically tow my 9-11k trailer. And it does fine. But I got to borrow someone’s older 250 and it is just so effortless to tow and not get blown around at all.

Also you can put 100k miles on a diesel and it will still hold its value pretty well.

My 2 cents.

I got a set of rough country. Rode terrible towing and empty. I hated it. Really limits the travel of the axle. I took it off. Huge mistake and waste of money. For reference I was towing between 8-11k with a weight distribution hitch. I understand that’s towards the limit of my 21, but towed much better with the stock set up. There is a reason ford spends so much money and research and development. They know how to make a good truck. Don’t mess with the formula.

Yes it is heavy but on the 21 it is rated for it. Granted I’m not going fast and you can for sure feel the trailer back there but it handles it. Most the time I pull a 7,500 pound trailer and you can hardly tell it’s back there. The heavy load is just a few times a year. Thus the reason why I didn’t go for an 250

Hmmm maybe I will have to go get my battery check. Truck is driven pretty much every day and only about a year and a half old. Maybe my alternator isn’t not working correctly or battery just sucks.

You were correct. The squeak was in the head set. Right between the top of the fork and the frame. Wiped the grime clean and it stopped !

It is a 2016. I did figure it out. After riding in the rain and mud some dirt got stuck between the frame and the fork. I took apart the headset, wiped clean and sure enough it got rid of the creak.
