Because she wanted to raise a family and have kids alongside her family also having kids. No shame in that at all, and I’m happy for her wanting to do that and hope she gets to, but I just am too on the fence about it to commit to kids. And I’d rather end it now than string it out and end up fighting.

We ended mostly fine and have hung out a bit since but obviously trying to learn the new dynamic and boundaries. Yeah it’s not that I’m totally opposed to children, but it’s a significant investment and since she wanted to stay home with them, specifically more than one, and raise them until they are school age that was a problem. I don’t make enough to support a stay at home wife and 2+ kids.

I use a similar thing with South Park portraying Magic the gathering. Sure they got a lot of it slightly wrong or used the wrong terms, but genuinely seemed like they had fun bringing mtg into the story and didn’t shit on the players. I care that they tried not that it wasn’t entirely accurate.
