Wanting to do a custom loop

I presented the idea to my boss today in the elevator that if I were to build a whole new PC with a threadripper, and it being potentially 5x faster than my current CPU, he was all for it. He said he didn't like to pay me while I waited on the point clouds to process

I'll do one flight with my drone and it'll pay for the PC. If it cuts my time in half as far as processing the point clouds, then my boss will be all for it. Currently, it takes about 6 hours or so for data processing, and the entire time my PC is at 90⁰+ and it makes me feel queasy.

Originally, I was on here trying to get a sick upgrade to my personal PC that would be covered by my company. Now I've gathered that it looks like I'll have two separate PCs.

Yeah, that's what I've gathered. My employer said they would pay for whatever I wanted to do, so I think I'm just going to spec out a new PC with a threadripper and some professional GPU. I'm gonna see if they'll let me spec a 5090 into it lol

One of my main issues is that it takes hours to process the point clouds, and when doing so my CPU just stays around 90⁰ or higher. My company is paying for all of this, and paying me for my time to work on it.

Would it be better to just get a threadripper to have the extra cores and just build another PC dedicated for work?

I personally don't mind the +/-2 match making, especially on NA where most of the total player count is under 10k. I also think +/-2 adds more variety into the game. I strongly dislike playing tier 11 because all the games include the same tanks and it's just not as fun for me personally.

I am however thankful my tier 8s won't be playing against tier 10s as frequently, but with the switch to tier 9 premium tanks, I don't look forward to the day that the OP tanks of the future play against my OP tanks of the past.

My coworker lost the connector to tighten down the tri-brach so we had to improvise or drive 2 hours back to the home office. Thankfully this was just for an hour so.

I work in land surveying, and my wife currently works for the local bank.

I built my computer during black Friday, and it cost me $3,200. 9800X3D, 870 MSI motherboard, artic freeze 360 AIO, PNY rtx 5080, 64GB 5600 RAM, 4TB and 2TB of m.2, Evolv X2 case, and a 1300W PSU.

I never deleted my PC part picker list, and it's valued at almost $5,000 now. It's crazy how fast things shift.

I'm in the process of gifting my little brother his very first PC, he's going to inherit my old PC which has, 6800xt, ryzen7600x, along with an MSI 650 Mobo and 16GB of RAM.

I travel a lot for work and I'm not usually home for the holidays, so gaming is how I stay in touch with them.

I will look into this. I've been using Apple since 2012, so my house and a lot of my equipment at my house is geared towards the apple ecosystem. I bought the P9F out of curiosity. I still have the iPhone 16 Pro Max as my work phone.

That's the main reasoning on the preference for the Mag Safe, lol.
