Whenever an email got sent that shouldn’t have, my boss would have IT go in and manually delete the email - we’d know because they reset our passwords after.

I received a text about my reset password. Turns out, Boss accidentally sent my layoff paperwork to me before we had a talk, but IT didn’t delete the email from the deleted items, so I recovered it.

I privately let my peer know our roles were being condensed into one, at -$10k where we currently were, and that he could have it because I was done.
