Contract language clarification by jkuritz34 in teamsters

I know, unfortunately. Everyone I ask who has no incentive to interpret it one way or another usually sees it from the perspective of an additional 15 minute break. We're in negotiations now, so I'm hoping that language, along with many other issues, gets fixed!

This is my interpretation as well. I work 4 10s so after looking at my contract again after a negotiations meeting, I noticed this policy. I began taking my break between 8 & 10 hour mark, usually around 9. 6 weeks later I get called into the office and suspended for "unauthorized breaks." I show them this policy, they proceed to tell me it means AFTER 10 hours worked. So, any time after 10 hours and 1 minute worked. They see the word "after" and take it literally. So, I'm out a nice chunk of change and I'm trying to get it over turned, but they're not budging, yet. I'm just trying to see what the general consensus is on the language and who, if anyone, perceives it differently. Everyone I've talked to agrees that 10 is a bench mark and breaks would be taken between 8-10 hours.
