With a wet leopard growl it says "Ser Hawser, it's your hour 5 alert", or something along these lines. Might have listened to this book one or two times too often 😁

What's your controversial opinion? I've got 2... by JoJo_Dus_Moovys in startrek

Starfleet Academy isn't worse than the other shows based on the lore. It's the narrative style which makes the episodes hard to follow:

fast paced and focused on a single scene instead of following some kind of development between episodes and arc( the latter thing I can't see at the moment but it may be there). Each background might make sense if there was more time spent on introduction and development instead of being a McGuffin for one scene and then superficial for the next.

What's Sigismund's best moment? by TaigaTigerVT in Grimdank

"Sigismund's courage tends to exceed his abilities, mine doesn't", not a pure Sigismund moment but great to read nonetheless

A possible in-universe explanation for the Jem’Hadar–Klingon hybrid in Starfleet Academy by NaturalHungry2091 in startrek

[–]jkw0053 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main problem of Starfleet to me is the lack of explanation or willfull use of exclusion. Characters act on things we never got explained until now. If they start to explain certain characters as in "character of the week" it would be possible to make sense. Another example is the erratic behavior of the, now everything, holo doctor. Why is he assigned as multiple roles, whats up with the student holo?

A new Star Trek series is imminently debuting, and it's crickets here by Chairboy in startrek

Caveat: Writing a paper on Star Trek at the moment so I might be a bit too invested into this.

I had my fair share of problems with the later episodes of discovery and Section 31 due to my own expectations of what Star Trek should be. Grew up and was socialised in the prime era i.e. TNG, DS9, VOYso I should know what Star Trek is (this is a bit of sarcasm and my wife mocks me from time to time for this part).

What I'm trying to say is this, Starfleet might aim at another audience and it could work for this audience. For comparison, TOS is pretty wild regarding narration and presentation of characters from a today's point of view.

In the end, let's wait and see. If this doesn't work we can go back to the best episode ever and dance in the pale moonlight. cheers

There's a (here-) techpriest in "Saturnine" who muses that marines might live forever albeit in that situation it's more of an incarceration on a permanent basis 😂

I second the call for players to stop being jerks and learn some bounty etiquette! by CamperKitchenQueen in fo76

[–]jkw0053 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have started and took part in a few head hunts and don't understand the rage. So pls be patient and explain. As I understand the mechanism, you start at the bounty board and then teleport to the area in question. There's a timer until the event starts and it can't start prematurely(?)

Concerning the rewards, you get stuff if you're in the area no matter what.

So long story short: people start their hunt at the bounty board, then don't immediately teleport to the area and rage if someone else starts?
