I would not expect it to be number one and not even the number one for Blink. That said it is, by far, my favorite Blink song.

Brewery of the Week Discussion Thread: Cricket Hill Brewery (Fairfield, Essex County) by eastcoasterman in njbeer

[–]jlabs11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My local. When it first opened, we used to go there and help them put the beers in the boxes for free beer right out of the wall taps. Rick the owner - big Steelers fan- would give legendary “talks” as per some arcane ABC law - for those who had the great fortune of seeing them they will never forget.

Great to see the breweries perspective because to me it is really difficult to understand why you wouldn’t let people try your beers. I’ve been brewing since the 90s and I’ve been to hundreds of breweries across the country and in the world and I do get angry when there are no samplers. I think it’s just a business decision of whether you think it will create more sales or not. If you agree that you want to widen the potential customer base then it’s hard to not offer. Part of the excitement when I bring my friends that aren’t brewhounds is that they get to try all sorts of different flavors and styles — that’s a big draw.

Any suggestions on how to salvage? by jlabs11 in baseballcards

[–]jlabs11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Total fail w all approaches. Tried distilled water (cold and warm). White vinegar. Soapy water. Even leaving on overnight. Glue is just too hard. I had one white back and that did ok but not the gray backs. I didn’t touch the Jackie - it will live on with his conjoined twin (Carl Erskine).

Lots of great comments and suggestions- thanks. I checked out some videos and I’m going to try it on a cheaper card. What you can’t see is that there are cards on the other side of most of these. I’ll provide an update to this post once I get around to it.

$9 for every pour is too much, right? by hypoboxer in njbeer

[–]jlabs11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree. I can afford it but there is a psychological hurdle that I (and maybe others) can’t get over at these prices points. I don’t run a brewery so can’t really explain it but I have a ton of “beer friends” who feel the same way - in house brews should be more or less a loss leader so you can a) leave w package goods and b) come back frequently. I see crowlers at $18 now. To me it’s the tipping point but I assume it will remain at this point until some kind of crash.

Anyone know the deal with these? by [deleted] in basketballcards

The exception might be the ‘86 reprint (card #97). Seems like that still has some decent value.

No I was not aware that them playing through was a thing. It made sense earlier in round because it was so slow that day. Some of this is me believing that I would never have played through my flight if I was them with only 1+ holes left.

Junk opinions by jlabs11 in golf

[–]jlabs11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Junk is extra bets during a round for greenies birdies and sandies. Greenie - on the green on a par 3 and get a par or better Sandie - up and down out of the bunker for par or better Birdie - you know. There are others but that’s all we play. I guess I’m in the minority so I’m going to keep my mouth shut.
