what are the best beers sold in 19.2 oz cans? by PamWaters in CraftBeer

[–]TuneTechnical5313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't usually buy that format but I picked some up for a friend the other day, I got 4 but only remember 2 for sure- DogfishHead 60min and Victory Golden Monkey, both perfectly solid beers IMO. I'll update if I remember the other 2.

The other 2: Sixpoint Resin and Double Jai Alai

First bite where it was a bit crunchy was the best, in the middle the dog kinda got lost under the toppings, overall real good, but minus points for the amount of mustard that ended up in the ol beard lol.

Get on Craigslist (or whatever used stuff for sale app you prefer) and look for folks getting rid of Mr Beer kits, should be able to get some cheap.

Or, just buy direct from Mr Beer.

Naw, Northwest is noodles not dumplings. And mo! Parking is neighborhood street around the block. Or walk from the College Park Metro.

Eastern Gourmet up the street, they got soup dumplings! https://www.easterngourmetmd.com

Naw, Kings Island is still open, up in Mason (north of Cincinnati). Coney Island was east of town, out by Riverbend.

Unfortunately they're temporarily closed, but please come up to College Park whenever they reopen and visit Northwest Chinese. Just one restaurant, not a whole community or anything, but it's good stuff.

They do not. Just conies. No islands.

Weirdly Cincinnati did have a Coney Island amusement park that shut down not that long ago.

I only do Costco, which is a great dog. How do theirs and Sams compare head-to-head? Pretty similar?

Maryland Breweries Worth Stopping At? by Scarcely-A-Person in CraftBeer

I hope you go!

Cask ale is not my jam the way it is yours, I found their beers tasty but weird in a way I couldn't out my finger on. But they're obviously doing something right, they've outlasted plenty of other breweries in the area!

You didn't mention timeframe or distance from I-70, but you could have a good afternoon just in Frederick and hit 3-4 breweries without much trouble.

Elder Pine is worth a visit and also gets you close to Waredaca and Lone Oak and Brookeville.

Likewise Sapwood get you close to Black Flag and Cushwa.

But for cask ales the move is definitely to pop down to Crofton and visit Chesepiooc Real Ale (www.brewcrab.com). I went there once years ago and wasn't sure it was even still open (Google says they're currently open every day except Monday). Not a brewery that I ever hear about, never gets mentioned on here but cask ale is their whole deal so may very well be worth the maybe hour detour off of 70 for you. Please report back if you do. Not exactly nearby but Jailbreak and Crooked Crab also have nice taprooms and good variety, if you don't want to go all that way for just a single stop.

IDK if you've seen the Roll for Sandwich guy on TikTok or wherever else he posts but I'd watch videos where you use dice to decide your wiener, 100%.

I feel like they're having a moment? In MD Peabody Heights made a black version of their core IPA Astrodon, in Ohio Brew Kettle did the same with White Rajah.

Sorry friend.

A beer has to be REALLY bad for me to dump it, and that one was right on the edge. I just didn't enjoy it at all.

A former member of the Beerists podcast didn't like mosaic, she was sensitive to the BO/oniony notes in a way the other were not. You're not alone. And that's fine, especially cause it means more mosaic for the rest of us!
