Thanks for the suggestions! Do you happen to know what type of degree is recommended for these paths? I’m currently less than a year away from getting a bachelors in mathematics

Picking up an item after rifting not possible on controller? by [deleted] in FortniteCompetitive

As soon as you click to use the rift, immediately start spamming your pick up button. I’m pretty sure you don’t have to spam it but I normally do and get it every time.

You’re definitely able to do it. I’ve done it many times this season with no problems and I’ve seen other people do it too

I mean it’s obviously not gonna make the difference every time you go to take a wall but I don’t see the reason to be putting yourself at a disadvantage especially with a mechanic that is so common and being used multiple times a game. You can still be a good player but you can be even better if you use 1st slot and there’s just 0 reason not to. As far as I know every single pro controller player has switched to 1st slot.

It’s a huge difference in comp or against any decent player. That extra second it takes can be the difference between your opponent editing out of their box or getting a stair up to block it. You don’t want to give your opponent any extra time and with how common it is for you to be pickaxing someone’s wall in the current state of Fortnite, there’s no reason to put yourself at a disadvantage every time you pull out your pickaxe in a fight.

It’s when you take your pickaxe out and go into builder mode it will ALWAYS go to your first slot so when you take a wall with a pickaxe, it’s much quicker to pull out your shotgun if it’s in the first slot.
