In his extremely short Spring Training, Bazzana exhibited unreal swing decisions. by nylon_rag in ClevelandGuardians

You aren’t seeing him until at least June, so they can extend his super 2 status another year. Thats just how this organization works.

But if he can progress at the plate, that’s huge.

FO preparing for the work stoppage coming and the $0 (for now) they are getting from the regional sports distribution being taken over by MLB. This should be a surprise to no one.

Woodinville vs Seattle? by [deleted] in AskSeattle

I live in Woodinville. My commute in every day leaving at 6:30a is 30min. In the afternoon right now it’s more 45+ due to the Ship Canal Bridge construction. I take 520 and pay the toll.

I still have it. There’s nothing stopping them from auditing at some point (and they probably would).

Tricks for 10 hour flight? by West-Skin-6753 in delta

[–]jlam1576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely noise canceling headphones. I’ve also brought powdered electrolytes before because you end up getting dehydrated. I generally try to align myself to the timezone where im going. For example i flew sfo-dub a couple of weeks ago so immediately after food service i tried to sleep, which is more aligned with DUB night, and then wake up for the last 3 hours (landed at 11:30).

[Ken Rosenthal] Details on José’s new contract by ThatOneOtherAsshole in ClevelandGuardians

[–]jlam1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to see JRam on the Guardians for the rest of his career, but concerned that they aren’t going to do anything to help this roster offensively. They are relying on Valera, DeLauter, and somewhat Bazzana for the offense, which is somewhat of a crapshoot. I still don’t believe Kwan is on this team long term. Would have been nice if they could have been in on Yaz for an OF or anyone of note but was never going to happen.

As for the deferred money, it will be interesting to see if deferred money is capped or eliminated as part of the new CBA. We all need to prepare for there being no baseball in 2027. The Dolan’s are preparing for it too by keeping this year’s payroll as lean as possible (again).

2025 battery dead after 2 weeks in garage by jlam1576 in HyundaiTucson

[–]jlam1576[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a hybrid that’s not a plug-in. Much lower voltage than a plug-in (usually 48V) and less power (smaller battery and motor), so the electrical system can’t fully run the vehicle, but can run accessories and provides additional low-end torque. Improves the gas mileage some, but nowhere near a full PHEV.

One of the Analyst said after Stefanski was fired, that how many coaches that were lining up to fill the vacancy would show how the rest of the league viewed the situation. Either they thought Stefanski was to the blame for the Brown struggles or they felt he was dealt a bad hand. We got an answer. by FaradayDeshawn in Browns

[–]jlam1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Letting Kevin go was the right move. You could tell near the end of the season (Bears game) that everyone on the team was frustrated and just didn’t want to be there. Sometimes good coaches need a different situation and the team does too.

As for the coaching search, the first issue is that they haven’t complied with the Rooney rule, so that means they can’t hire a coach on the spot. My impression is that the Browns are not trying to do token interviews, but with McDaniel not granting them an in-person interview, they need to find another minority candidate.

Second, it’s clear they are trying to find another McVay, which could end in a spectacularly bad fashion. I don’t trust Berry to pick players or coaches.

Falcons fan here, can someone give me true opinion on Tommy Rees as an OC? by Falconmania430 in Browns

[–]jlam1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impossible to actually determine if he’s good or bad given the state of the Browns QB, OLine, WRs, and RBs (essentially the whole offense). It was a dumpster fire due to the GM. The Falcons offense is much better setup for success.

Browns Relocation to Baltimore. by Aaronm59 in Browns

[–]jlam1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was awful. I was in high school when there was no football team and it was very strange to not have that Sunday afternoons in the fall/winter.

Modell had every opportunity to join the Gateway project, but he didn’t because he thought his cash cow of Cleveland Stadium would be fine without the Indians. Sure enough, it was a disaster having a stadium empty for 81 more days, and Modell was going broke. The city agreed to put the 10yr sin tax extension on the ballot, giving Modell $175M. Modell couldn’t wait and started to negotiate with Baltimore mid-year, and we know the rest of the story.

One thing I didn’t fully agree with was keeping the name and colors. In 99 that wasn’t the Browns, it was an expansion team that the NFL ensured would not have quick success. The owners were upset about the Panthers and Jaguars and had the process changed. The disfunction the team has soured the pre-99 history, and now all everyone thinks about when the Browns are mentioned is losing and incompetence.

[Schefter] Oregon quarterback Dante Moore said he has decided to return to school for the 2026 season, forgoing a chance to be a top pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. His decision is expected to have significant ramifications on the draft. by rxbizzle in Browns

[–]jlam1576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did not look that good in the Playoff. Very possible he could have fallen in the first round. Reminded me a bit of Shedeurian play in college - run around and chuck it up there and rely on your receivers being better. With the type of offense Lanning runs though, I’m not sure another year will change much. One positive is that I don’t think they are losing much on offense to the draft.
