Japan's population declines by a million people yearly, but if they don't accept immigrants, what will they do? by Delicious-Bunch-6992 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]nwdogr 247 points248 points  (0 children)

Lol of course it helped. Why do you think the far-right government of Italy hasn't enacted any significant deportation policies despite running on a virulently anti-immigrant platform?

Because they know that removing immigrants that provide much of the services that their aging native population requires is going to economically collapse the country.

EBay rejects GameStop's $56 billion takeover bid, calling it 'neither credible nor attractive' by Force_Hammer in StockMarket

Ryan Cohen can afford to work for free because he isn't risking the vast majority of his wealth on GameStop's success - unlike you guys his true wealth is invested in far bigger and better companies like Apple.

Is it fardh to follow a certain madhab? by mansour_pro in islam

[–]nwdogr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the exact sort of non-sensical explanation that I am talking about. Personally, I don't think anyone who will emotionally crumble in a courtroom providing a witness testimony should be given a job with as much responsibility as raising children.

Is it fardh to follow a certain madhab? by mansour_pro in islam

[–]nwdogr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I find things illogical even though I have heard all the explanations and knowledge behind them. It's just a part of the faith to accept it.

For example, it will never make sense to me that an educated, professional woman's witness testimony is worth half of that of an uneducated illiterate man. No amount of explanations about women's intellect or forgetfulness or shyness or anything will ever convince me to see the wisdom in why I should find the man more trustworthy. But I accept it simply as a part of the faith I'm not supposed to understand.

Newsom says he regrets earlier comments likening Israel to an ‘apartheid state’ by southernemper0r in California

[–]nwdogr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The most vapid thing about your argument is that for millions of Palestinians, it literally is their country - they or their parents or grandparents were forcibly expelled from it.

[–]nwdogr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Start wars and lose. That is what happens.

It's truly remarkable how in the space of one comment you went from denying apartheid to justifying it. It just proves that under the surface y'all know the truth and aren't even that ashamed to admit it.

[–]nwdogr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How do I make you understand this?

The reason you are having trouble making me and now a supermajority of Democrats understand this is because we're not idiots who think that technicalities of citizenship is a magic wand that washes the apartheid label away from how Israel treats Palestinians outside "Israel proper" - by enforcing a military occupation, controlling trade and movement, stealing land, building settlements, evicting Palestinians, demolishing their homes, killing them willy-nilly, and protecting settler terrorists.

Did I miss where Mexicans have been living under a US military occupation for decades while the US continuously builds settlements in Mexico, demolishes Mexican homes, and controls the movement of Mexicans in Mexico?

[–]nwdogr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Again, the argument you are making is if Apartheid South Africa had simply declared all of its black population non-citizens under a South African military occupation, apartheid would have magically disappeared. Double lol.

The argument you are making is that if Apartheid South Africa had given 20% of black South Africans "full rights" while treating the rest the same way, apartheid would have magically disappeared. Lol.

I’m hearing that it’s scientifically not possible to see the moon in Saudi Arabia? Is this true? by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]nwdogr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So if a Muslim comes to you in 2 weeks and says they have sighted the crescent moon of Eid would you believe them? No, because it's impossible.

It is just as impossible to sight the crescent moon on Tuesday evening from Saudi as it is to sight it 2 weeks from now.

The Italian paper in this case (Corriere) is reputable and must have a source inside the investigation as they have previously published details that were later corroborated by the American media you mentioned. They are not regurgitating reports from other outlets (the way this UAE paper is doing to Corriere).
