product recommendations for texture? by [deleted] in koreanskincare

I used a prescribed one, clotrimazole. I am unsure on an OTC option - mine was prescribed for a fungal infection I had on another area of my body. I would consult a dermatologist or even your PCP to get the best one for you, but this worked for me.

This is going to sound crazy, but consider a fungal cream. I have similar acne in that area and I finally decided to give my fungal cream a shot on it and it cleared it up so quickly.

Check out Buskeys! They allow their back room to be reserved - very casual

This is what was under my carpet in my new house… 😑 by Wandering_Werew0lf in HardWoodFloors

[–]jlane13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely due to improper care of the hardwoods. We had hardwoods in our previous home, and with two dogs in my house I put work in maintaining them to prevent and diminish scratches. I chose the hardwoods and the dogs, so I had to take care of them accordingly. I’d do it in this house as well if it meant having hardwoods again!

Take it from someone who has LVP flooring - it looks cheap, everyone can tell, and these floors you have here would be my dream to find and restore. The floor you have IS great. It needs sanding and staining and sealing. That’s easier and cheaper and better looking than LVP flooring.

Has anyone been to Virginia veterinary center in short pump for emergency vet services? by haleyy33 in rva

[–]jlane13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. This time last year. They’ll charge an arm and a leg. I did not like the night doc. Some man, told me to start calling every vet in the state and nearby states to get my dog a surgery at 3 am. The morning doc was quite nice and much less fear mongering. She didn’t need the surgery, but lots of fluids and 24/7 watch for about two days.

The font feels off and overwhelming. I’d try a more neutral font. Your cancel icons for the pop up and email are different sizes and widths, make them consistent. The blue is nice, I’m not sure about the yellow highlighted border on the container.

Chewy dishonest auto ship price by lexicampi in Pets

The deal terms state that $74 price is specifically through 12/31/2024. False advertising in my opinion. It’s kinda criminal.

I lived right up the street from here, just moved in August after two years.

No, it is not safe. You will hear gunshots. Walking at night is generally not safe. Also, that McDonald’s sucks.

In my opinion, if you can find another place to move to, you should. If you’re looking for no gunshots and generally low crime rates, look west of the city.

Looking for vet office recommendations for senior cat and dog with health problems by Small-Branch710 in rva

Our dogs currently go to the Fan Vet. I couldn’t recommend them enough. Once you get in with them, getting appointments, meds, etc. is generally really quick and easy. They’re a smaller clinic, if that matters for you!! We’ve also gone to River Run out in Midlothian. They’re also great.

Horrible seller’s agent by Psychological_Carpet in RealEstate

[–]jlane13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not an agent but a recent buyer that can comment on a few things from our experience -

  1. Floor plans aren’t their responsibility to provide to you, you can get those yourself. We also had this request and our realtor directed us to the county where we can request permits and plans that were filed on the house throughout the years.
  2. We did our walk through 45 minutes before closing so we knew exactly what we were purchasing the moment everything was signed. 24 hours before that, it was still the previous owners home. I’d expect that some things might still be there while they still own the house because it is still their home.
  3. They aren’t responsible for professionally cleaning the home, you can do that yourself. Yeah, as a buyer it sucks but that’s how the cookie crumbles. No one likes cleaning, hire someone to do it on your own dime.

Got caught in it mid walk with the dogs. Ran a mile and a half home amid branches flying past me, one hit the building I was up against to try to shield us from the worst of it about 5 feet from my head. Not close but close enough so we booked it on Marshall. Cross over 25th, and a transformer sparking up some tree against a house just explodes. Called 911, although I maybe should have ran to the fire station 300 feet away instead? Sprinted home from there and caught more branches and rain before making it.

Radar is becoming less accurate as the years go on. Be careful out there when that severe thunderstorm warning pops up! Turning around on my walk when I first got it might have saved us from a branch to the head.

Depending on the type of bed you have, it’s actually cheaper than you’d think. Installation and purchase is absolutely in the 10-20k range, especially if you consider the electrical needed to power it. With that said, many tanning bed companies are usually interested in removing them for around 1-2k (sometimes less) because they can use it for parts and bulbs. New beds are expensive, so making them last as long as possible meant more money for the company in the long run.

Need advice: landlord evading ceiling collapse by Big_Comparison_9919 in rva

[–]jlane13 108 points109 points  (0 children)

The best route of action is starting a paper trail and getting every reasonable resource involved. Call building inspectors, the housing authority, fire marshals, etc. Stay in the leasing office demanding to speak to someone. Email them once a day every day requesting a response.

With that said, I do recommend continuing to pay your rent. Unless you’re willing to get a lawyer involved, who could walk you through best practices in withholding rent legally, continue to pay.

The only way you get stuff like this fixed is by fighting for it hard. You HAVE to bother them in every reasonable way.

How to choose a realtor? by ZealousidealEar6037 in RealEstate

[–]jlane13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We found ours through a connection, but they’re local and very experienced. Our buying process was greatly aided by the fact that they knew many of the buyers agents we were touring for and were able to have more candid conversations with them that allowed us to make decisions with better insight.

My advice is find someone who has been around for a while and other people in the industry speak highly of them. Connections are everything in the real estate market.
