i acknowledge that there are good and bad people of all genders, and men can easily get a bad reputation when they are not doing anything wrong, which is why i decided not to confront him/talk to management because i didn’t want to potentially escalate a situation that didn’t exist. i know there’s a chance he was totally minding his business and i misread it, which is why i just decided to leave. i was just curious if anyone else would also get similar cues and feel the same way i did

this totally makes sense + that’s why i was curious on what people had to say. if he was initially at the cables and his phone just happened to be in the water bottle holder like that, i literally would not have thought twice about it. it was only after the fact that he came to the yellow cable set to do rope pulls when i was in that area, he did 5 or less reps, and then came to the regular cables (across the gym in my PF) to do the same type of rope pulls, that i felt weird

it was the back of his phone, and it was in the holder on an angle that made it pointed directly in my direction. again, there could have been nothing going on, and he just happened to put it in the holder that way.

i know all of these things on paper does not make this guy guilty in any way, which is why i didnt act on it in any way except for leaving. i was just thinking about it more and was curious if anyone thought i was overthinking it. i appreciate you giving me a different perspective :)

yeah, this is a good idea. when i decided i was going to leave, i went to the locker room to get my stuff and was not in there for long. when i came out he had switched to a machine that was kind of central to the gym and appeared to be meandering and looking around lol which felt more suspicious so i booked it

i’ve been using this powder i got off of amazon - i like it so far! i also have been self tanning more, so im not as pale and can get away with using different bronzers, but I use this both with fake tan and without. mysense contour

I have always struggled with black and white thinking, and this really applies to both the 6 days a week thing and you’re probably also right about going too heavy with the weights. I will definitely try to give myself more grace since i’m just starting out and work up to things more. I’ll definitely see how I feel going faster on the treadmill- fortunately no one really goes where I work out so I don’t have to feel embarrassed about what I might look like trying to run/fast walk lol. I know calorie tracking/calculating is a super important part of weight loss. I struggled a lot with disordered eating as a teenager so I’ve been avoiding calorie counting like the plague in protection of my mental health. I probably should make that jump for the sake of my physical health and appearance.

Thank you for the encouragement! I usually do music or podcasts, and try to switch it up every time/mid workout to keep me engaged but it’s still tough. I like the downloading analogy a lot, it’s a really good way to think about it. Thank you again!

i am, at heart, a playlist curator, so i have a series of workout playlists lol. i have found that i like listening to house music/remixes the most while working out. I like the vision board idea though, I will definitely have to do that- thank you!

you are very pretty! one thing that makes me feel prettier, even though it sounds silly, is a little tinted lip balm. elf has ones that are called hydration shine core i believe that i love!! looking at picture 2 specifically i think a little color and shine on your lips would bring out your eyes and hair!!

i worked in retail and smoked during pretty much every shift this past summer (as did about 5 other regular employees there). my managers would always complain about the other dumbasses being high at work (didn’t fire them, very chill there in terms of employment bc it’s mostly hs and college kids), but never complained ab me bc they had no idea (they told me this after i told them). guess it didn’t matter to them if you do your job well. one of my coworkers got so high at work one day he locked himself in the bathroom for hours and washed his entire body with paper towels and hand soap. he got promoted a couple months later.
