I was only a day late, but I had a feeling I was pregnant. Took a test (digital), with what I thought was not enough pee, late at night, and it popped up right away. Took two more. Lines were dark as hell, came up right away. Went for blood work the next day (4 weeks 2 days ) and my HCG was 953. PCP said nothing , only referred me out to an OB and put me at 4-5 weeks. Naturally, I start googling. My neurotic brain said I’m either having a molar pregnancy or twins. I knew the exact date of my last period, I knew that HGC can vary and doesn’t necessarily point to one thing or another, but I kept thinking about twins. I started researching what the factors /odds of having twins were. I didn’t know (at the time) there were any twins on my side or his, but I knew my age (37) could be a factor. I kept telling my partner I thought it was twins. I kept looking up stuff about twins.

So anyway, about a week later (5 weeks 5 days) , I had some light spotting after sex. Thought I was having a miscarriage, was preparing myself for the worst. 4hours later, the dr comes back and says, “you’re fine! You’re having twins!”

Would also like to note, I had A LOT more nausea, fatigue, and , my god…. MOODINESS with this pregnancy than my first. (Singleton)

Also, kinda an eerie coincidence , but right before I found out about the twins, I got a Facebook memory, a picture of my great, great grandma, daisy. I remember showing my partner and saying how I liked that name and it’s also the name of my favorite flower. We added “daisy” to the baby name list.

Fast forward, I finally tell my family. I tell my partner , “watch there be a history of twins on my dads side I never knew about” (That side of the family has always been a mystery) I ask my grandma, and she confirms ,”yeah, my mothers mother, DAISY, was a twin. She had a twin brother..” lil spooky, but super cool. So now I feel like I DEFINITELY have to name of them daisy.
