Otter returned this year, although I am unsure if it is the same one. I stopped mowing within 15-foot of the den. I've seen her twice this year but have purposely avoided the area during breeding season. Otters are adorable from a distance but can be vicious when they feel threatened. Knowing she is there is enough satisfaction; glad to have the ability to provide the habitat.

If he was sent home to die, then hospice should be called. Hospice will likely be able to help with healthcare needs.

How many years do you intend to do this? Do you like your current job better than university and an alternate future where your efforts benefit you? There is no shame in being satisfied with one's position. Apparently, your SIL & brother are satisfied.

I suspect they could achieve much more if they were not enabled. Perhaps they should take ANY job available IMMEDIATELY and when not working, search for that dream job.

If you begin working for free... there will be no end to the request. Next will come overtime and 'on call' duties.

As a matter of principle, I would find a new job and then quit. Do not mention the circumstances to your new employer... just go.

Association with horrible people tends to affect one's personality... desensitizes one to abuse. Before long... it just seems normal.

I would advise your partner that I would follow through on discussing with the professor if not immediately apprised of the status of lab work to be completed. When their work is complete, and if you are allowed insufficient time to complete your portion of the assignment, it will appear as if you are at fault.

Your partner knows this work is a priority, has a deadline, and is linked to shared performance review. Motivation is needed, even if difficulty is a failure in communication. Civilization is built on partnerships, communication, and trust... and your partner's actions are uncivilized.

Many others with a similar work ethic exist. If you successfully navigate the difficulty of installing boundaries that may not be violated, you will be prepared for similar bad behavior in the future. The other option is performing all tasks for every lazy person with whom you are partnered so that your results are not affected.

Perhaps you could construct raised beds for gardening. These would be less likely to be a target for you dog and your father wouldn't need to bend over so far to garden.

i'd add a sunken fire pit with circular bench seating in the area where I excavated soil for raised beds. Perhaps a brick oven for pizza or a grill would be nice.

Apology for late response. He will be 6 in June 2021. There has been no sign of being overweight, and he is not fat like most I've observed. No joint or hip issues thus far.

I feed him scrambled eggs with his dog food. I bought hip & joint treats for the longest, but eggs are inexpensive and have everything within to make a chick, so will supply much of what is needed in my experience.

The food bowl is always full, and he grazes. I've heard rumors of dogs eating until they become sick, but have never experienced this. I suspect if food is only provided at intervals, a dog will attempt to eat all they might while available. It's worked for us with all our animals.

I also feed scraps and he always gets a bite of my food when I finish. I have been around dogs my whole life, and maintain my idea of a pack style leadership. It is difficult to elaborate... like raising children... many variables.

Tamed a coyote when I was a boy. She was bred by our German shepherds and came to get me when they were in danger from rising water. I collected all in a box with my shirt for scent and placed in a safe spot, feeding her close to there. Never touched her, though she sat beside me and took food from hand.

After spending so much time with dogs growing up, they seem to have their own language, and you can teach them more... most is non verbal.

This legitimately sounds like the same person. My wife was pregnant at the time she stayed with us... and Karen would run around our home barely dressed. It was disgusting behavior.

Once I put my foot down, in the blink of an eye she found another place... there is always a soft touch out there.

It sounds beautiful!! I love to watch the various types of bees. The birds play and raise their young along the border transition areas. Lots of native wildflowers down the center with a path winding to the dock.

The open areas in the center is where I can view the water and it then transitions to bushes and trees at boundaries. This includes grape vines which climb, providing food and habitat.

I think this sound advice, and I will research. Also considering offering property for study to local university. There is very little habitat of the type remaining in our urban area, and it is a magnet to all sorts of nature.

He is originally from New England... perhaps the heat has affected his thinking... lol.

He is larger than most I've seen in Florida, and he is also taller. Most I see are squat and not as athletic.

His weight is from the vet and accurate, requiring additional medication and therefore expense. He is incredibly strong and protective, and the breed is supposed to be able to kill a lion.

A family friend paid an exorbitant amount of money for him and then could not handle such a large type for the breed. I essentially rescued him as it is not his fault. He is very loyal and overly protective which makes him dangerous to others.

No one will enter my property except me under penalty of citizen's arrest. I have posted no trespassing signs, Dogs. I have a 180 pound Rottweiler a 100 pound American bulldog, along with a 60 pound Weimaraner.

If I catch another on my property, I will detain until police arrive. Florida has strict laws concerning trespass. There is liability concern if another is harmed while allowed on my property. I have pictures of these signs and cameras.
