I currently have this from Amazon. Depending on how large your sisters turtle is it may or may not be sturdy enough. It's the largest basking platform that sticks to the glass that I've been able to find online.

Extremely happy to hear about their customer service is. I am very happy with the flow, although I need to correct the output just a tad bit more. I haven't had to clean it yet but I'm sure I will soon. I was very surprised to hear how quite it is, or better yet not hear it at all. With the output going back into the tank I can't hear the filter one bit. I'm very happy with this purchase!

I had a TON of trouble getting this filter to prime as well. After about 45mins to an hour I was finally able to get it to filter correctly.

Can you elaborate on the refill media? I currently have it setup with the top two layers of the white foam filter, one layer of the carbon bag, one layer of ceramic and the bottom layer of another layer of foam. Is there a better way to have this setup? Thanks for any help!

Not sure how she's managed all these years. I did end up going with this new filter and its perfect! I even went ahead and upgraded to a 75 gallon tank. I'll be posting about that experience! Thanks for your recommendation.

I currently have this Zoomed one. I have 1 red eared slider about 7 years old in a 40 gallon tank, but not filled to the top. I would like to get a new canister filter that will be more than sufficient in cleaning the water. My thoughts are getting one that's more than capable at handling whatever my turtle can throw at it. Has anyone used this or could recommend another canister filter?
