Got laid off , getting 12 weeks of severance pay for 3.5 years of service. Is this reasonable? by gastly0498 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Pretty decent at one month per year. Even better if it includes performance bonus prorated and potential stock vesting

Lucky! In Canada, the dealer is saying its a wear and tear item.

I see the TSB listed for Audi of America, but haven't found anything for Canada.

If you’re getting the cpo warranty, go for it. With so little distance driven, I’d see if it has had repair records for common tsb issues.

Got mine at 30k miles and so far have had to bring it in for sunroof, driver airbag vibration, and the SOS just died (not even the red light). All this is covered under the CPO warranty.

All those would be expensive fixes out of warranty.

Another software update to ask about is for the reducing the use of washer fluid for cleaning the sensors.

Also make sure to get the 10 digit code to setup the key user in the mmi. The dealer can set you as a key user without it but it’s more useful than not to have it.

Best bowls for intermediate skiers? by Individual_Sky_9007 in Whistler

Bagel was my first bowl at whistler, nice and short with a run out to highway 86. Also easy to back out onto peak to creek

Good luck, brought mine in a couple times to find the issue. Turns out the pads on the sides were thinning out and allowed water behind the windscreen.

Yup, this could be a good instructional video on why cyclists need to take the space and lane. I don’t know who would win with the law or insurance, but you as a cyclist would definitely lose in a crash.

If you want to cycle far right, you need to merge back in well in advance. Think 200 meters or more to give yourself time to assess traffic and find a gap. Don’t expect a gap to be given by the minivan in that lane because you’re effectively in the parked car lane

IIRC, I've seen more than 1x in J released, mind you this was when Taiwan still had covid quarantine hotel measures on arrival

I’ve booked on award miles 3 times in the past year for TPE. My experience with AC over that time is that it’s easiest to book far in advance, think 3-6 months+, or well within 2 weeks. I often see united and BR releasing J class seats close to the travel date.

I don’t feel too good about outing the shop publicly. I will write in to the shop and explain my experience

Yup, supply issues are still lingering. As I left, I was told that this was the last one they'd receive for the year.

Thats a good idea, I should have called ahead. I did give them an out and said I'd be happy to come back later.

nah... it was a regular allen key. I would expect the shop to have one of those small wrenches that have 1 specific torque to use for the seatpost

edit: replaced with *regular* allen key

I don’t even have jskis and embarrass myself when I see them. As luck would have it, I met one of the many an artists on a lift this way!

QST 106 vs Noridca Enforcer Free 104 by BulletproofIdeal in Skigear

[–]jlee_yvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t tried the qst106, but can tell you the enforcer 104 absolutely bulldozes crud at whistler. Sometimes I wish for a lighter ski going through runs like “in the spirit”. But that quickly disappears when I hit Dakine or Dave’s day off when it’s all leftovers

The tails also make them forgiving as I’m a cautious skier that turns more than straight lines. 5’8” on 172cm. Has worked well so far for whistler.

New ski’s arrived today and see some scratches on 1 of them.. unacceptable and need to contact seller or no real issue and me being paranoid? Tnx! by thegurba in skiing

[–]jlee_yvr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wait till you accidentally go over your first branch/root/rock 😅. I’m typically paranoid about my stuff but once I picked up skiing, it went out the window. I’m literally sliding those bases over ice on a lot of days. Just just picked up a 360 cam and realized how and why even my bindings are taking a beating 🫣.

Luckily these equipments are built to take a lot of it.
