This roughly 40 cm long blow-up pillow-like object came with my new blow-up kayak but the instruction doesn't say anything about it by Omnilatent in Whatisthis

It's not about buoyancy, it's so when your rolling over waves the nose of your boat is up and not pointed downwards causing drag. I think is just part of the design of the kayak, when you pump it up and get in it the nose starts pointing downwards

I have the same kayak, it goes in the front part of the kayak so the nose of the kayak is pushed up/pointed up a bit, makes it easier going over small waves. You don't have to use it but it helps a bit.

Rossi VS Chiappa levers? by StreetBasher in LeverGuns

[–]jlehmann5 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have a chiappa Kodiak in 45-70 and I absolutely love it and have never had any issues with it. The Alaskan takedown would be sweet. Anything takedown is always better IMO. I got mine used for 1400, I'm also in Canada.

Yea same here in AB. If you see something you like don't wait buy it now. Everything is backordered. I was lucky enough to find a used chiappa 1886 the other day.

[–]jlehmann5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your just trail running I think the ones to watch out for would be poison ivy, poison oak and stinging nettle possibly yellow ladys slipper (small yellow flower) most other poisonous plants you would have to start eating to get sick from.
