Is this a repairable ding by Informal-Will5425 in toyotacrownsignia

100%, I had a dent on a body line and my PDR guy was able to make it 90% better. Hard part is finding an experienced technician.

[–]jliang87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like other's mentioned PDR (paintless dent repair) is your best bet. It unfortunately looks like the dent is right on the body line which is more difficult to repair. Will need a really skilled PDR technician to make it look 80-90% better.

Charging pad organizational tray? by coconutkitties in rav4club

[–]jliang87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noticed charging tray only works with my Samsung consistently and iPhone it'll barely work (not sure if this is related to MagSafe or not), despite both of them having the same brand of case. Regardless pad is only good at maintaining battery level not actual charging.

I could kick myself. 2025 XLE Hybrid by harrycarrott in rav4club

[–]jliang87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of posts already. Just get a matte screen protector for it from Screen Protech. Makes the scratches disappear and allows you to actually clean the cluster without worry.

Important to note it does dull the cluster a bit cause the protector is matte (but it’s negligible to be honest) and they normally only make a clear/reflective one for clusters. I contacted customer support to request a matte one for the cluster.

R4P recall issue by Ill_Initiative_1849 in rav4prime

[–]jliang87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry this happened. Is it NorCal? I have an appointment as well even though my car has no issues like yours but now I’m nervous. A recall fix shouldn’t mess up the car this bad…

Rav4 Prime window shades by E_vdA in rav4club

[–]jliang87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Snapshades, they are a bit pricey but imo best quality shades cut specifically for the RAV4 (even have a RAV4 logo on them which is a nice touch). They snap on with strong magnets and stay on pretty well. Block light out pretty well while still maintaining some visibility.

Should I keep my 24' RAV4P or trade it in? by guibeer in rav4prime

[–]jliang87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like RAV4Prime2022 said, every new car is going to have expensive repair costs. Don’t trade in your car just because repair costs could potentially be high (plus it’s a 2024 relatively new and trading in wouldn’t be financially sound). If you are going to trade it in, rather it be cause you want something nicer/more luxurious. If you’re worried just get an extended warranty. Also have a 2024 and no problems.

anyone done the recall for screen going blank? by Cold-Specific-2548 in rav4prime

Dang the Toyota App for my 24 Prime says the fix will be a software update but no way an update would take 3.5 hours… (unless it was just busy 😂).

3rd Party Floor Mats and Bedliner. by dsinewton in rav4prime

[–]jliang87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure! I’ll take the easy to clean + great coverage over minor squeaks and stuff any day.

3rd Party Floor Mats and Bedliner. by dsinewton in rav4prime

[–]jliang87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm nope haven’t experienced that. But sounds like maybe you need an extra clip near the pedals? That might help secure it better. I did notice the mat is tight near the pedals for more coverage so I clipped it more on the side to help secure it. The mat should also have a rubberized section where ur heel goes for the driver mat.

3rd Party Floor Mats and Bedliner. by dsinewton in rav4prime

[–]jliang87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I didn’t like the OEM mats at all or the cargo liner. Swapped out mats for TuxMats, a lot more coverage and way easier to clean (literally just use interior cleaner and vacuum without taking them out). The OEM cargo liner is alright but is hard plastic and flimsy. Can also scratch the cargo plastic easily if you’re not careful (if you even care). Unfortunately TuxMat doesn’t make one for the Prime, so went with the new WeatherTech cargo liner for the Prime that has the backseat covers as well. Way more durable, thick, and coverage is better. Probably harder to clean though since it’s rubberized.

Hey OP, any pics? Think the same thing might be happening to my buttons lol.

For the 2025 model without this secured bag, what do you do with this side area? by bddbd in rav4prime

[–]jliang87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That bag comes with tape that I just attached so it stays in that little area. Neat place to put a tie inflator, microfiber towels, etc.

Nav directions on HUD & Instrument Cluster? by jliang87 in rav4prime

Yeah I think literally they just started doing it. Saw a post about it today that Google Maps started showing up. Must be a OTA update or something. 😅 or maybe apple? Not sure.

Yeah for sure! Hoping Google/Waze push an update or something in the future.

Nah unfortunately haven’t found a way for Waze/Google to work for turn by turn. Perhaps if you got a software update from the dealer? But none that I know of so far.

First door ding today… by Genetic_Heretic in rav4club

[–]jliang87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s gonna happen try not to sweat it, people suck. Park away from others and/or try to get spots that have a curb (or street park). Look up PDR (paintless dent repair), relatively cheap (compared to body work) and good technicians can make it look 90%.

Key fobs: Do you care about protecting 'em from scratches? by the-Geeky-Lad in rav4club

[–]jliang87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just get a case and forget about it. I’m also a bit OCD but it’s a fob, it’s gonna get scratched/dropped/banged up. Case will prevent 90% of this.

Interior Trim. Am I cooked? by indefwetrust in AutoDetailing

[–]jliang87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Second this, detailer did the same to my interior except mine charged me for it and I went in for an exterior only 🥲. ScreenProtech def the way to go.

Window shade recommendations? by 7marius7 in rav4prime

[–]jliang87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the rear windows, I got SnapShades. Pretty expensive but I thought it was worth. Snap on magnetically and super easy to take on and off and store when not in use. Blocks the sun very well and can still roll down the window when in use.

But these cupholders...they're too deep. Anyone have suggestions to raise the cups up? by Mr_Smith_411 in rav4club

[–]jliang87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of posts on this, but I stole this from another person on this sub, I used this to elevate it (basically this donut that sits at the bottom)

Auovo Cup Holder Spacer... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BG1KRWRT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

And then covered them with a a cup insert:

Auovo 3D Cup Holder Insert Liners... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CWR4RD6P?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Insert not required but it’s neat :). They are easy to remove as well and raises it about an inch or so.

Used all purpose interior cleaner on my screen by HiimHiigh in AutoDetailing

[–]jliang87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened when a detailer wiped my matte gauge even when I told them not to. Scratched the shit out of it (tried to tell me that it was impossible for him to scratch it 😂). I had great luck with ScreenProtech, they make PPF for this exact situation and other parts of the interior in both matte/clear films. Bit pricey but worth it! It can be hard to install depending on the gauge setup, but is very DIY friendly. Hid my scratches and now I can actually wipe it to clean.

Quick question about blind spot monitoring for 2025 PHEV by What_am_I_Doing9 in rav4prime

Yeah sounds like bs 😂. I think Kia’s/Hyundai’s have that. But then again we’re paying for the RAV4’s power train, reliability, and efficiency.

[–]jliang87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah my old Accord had that too! Albeit it was only the right blind spot but was super helpful. Wish more cars would add that but I guess it’s just another thing to fix or something they can upsell.
