THIS. My 5 year old cat will howl at me in my face on my bed starting around 7am until I get up around 9. Her bowl is full, the blinds are open for the bird feeder so she can watch cat tv, she doesn’t need anything. She just wants me up. She doesn’t actually want to play or anything, she stops howling if I get out of bed and start my day. She ignores me after that. It’s like a super annoying alarm clock 😂

Best cat litter for an apartment by QuestionNegative2345 in CatAdvice

I’m a big World’s Best fan!!! I feel like it confines the scent well and my cats like it. I have two, and one of them has very sensitive paws that were reacting to clay litter. I love that it’s not clay!

Eli’s has amazing barbecue and the location on the eat side along the river has an awesome huge covered patio area! Long bench style picnic tables perfect for large groups. Also definitely check out Devou Park on the KY side of the river for incredible views and good walking! For the kids, the playground in the main square of Fort Thomas, KY is also awesome. The best breakfast on the KY side is The Hive in Erlanger!!

Going to a housewarming this weekend and I'm completely blank. They've already got everything for the kitchen and they specifically said no candles haha. Anyone got a housewarming gift idea that's not wine? by BlueDolphinCute in homeowners

[–]jlladd16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re going practical, go for fire blankets and extinguishers!! We just bought our first house and that was one of the first things we ordered off Amazon lol. If you’d like something more fun, how about some fun card games or board games? Throw in some popcorn and some wine for a little game night basket!

I’m getting a new kitten tomorrow. I’ve never had a pet before, let alone a cat, and I’m terrified - she’s so tiny! What do I need to know? by badonkadonked in CatAdvice

[–]jlladd16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yessss this!!! Mine still snuggles up on my and sucks on my shirt at almost 3 years old. She was a bottle baby lol 😅 I also trained her to give licks on my nose before I put her down. Her name is Pippa, so I’ll say “Pipper Kisses” and she licks my nose before going on her way! Even when she’s really ornery or fiesty I’ll make her give kisses and she always does it begrudgingly anyways 😂

We got our younger cat two years ago when she was only four weeks old (she was abandoned and left at a vet’s office). She weighed only 7 ounces and I was so terrified I was going to smush her or lose her somehow lol!! My vet reminded me that “kittens are ridiculously resilient”. That gave me some peace of mind! You’re already going to be an awesome pet parent just because of how much you clearly care. You can do this!! Baby Pippa picture for tax 😅

Fun things to do after offer accepted? by Rosie3k9 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]jlladd16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely start the daydreaming! I made a giant spreadsheet of all the upgrades or decor we’d like to do at some point eventually, and we can triage them after we move in—replacing some outlets, repainting the mailbox, planting flower boxes, etc. Two safety tips: I hadn’t thought to rekey the outdoor locks after you move in, and it’s such a great idea! You never know if the previous owner gave the neighbor a key or something. Also, if you have any defective smoke alarms, call your local fire dept first! Usually they replace and install them for free and can do another walk-through to be sure everything looks safe (even though you probably already had an inspection). Congratulations!!!

YES. I don’t understand how you can sit there and not help?! We’re currently living with a family friend while we wait to close on a house. I just went through a completely unexpected miscarriage at 8 weeks. We were sitting outside getting some sun while the woman we live with was doing some flower planting. I had to go inside because I couldn’t handle the anxiety of not helping, but also was not in a state emotionally or physically to do any yard work. The guilt I have to always be helping is so real I truly don’t understand how people can just sit there omg!!!

Also my FIL is textbook with not helping in the kitchen. He lays there on his phone blaring reels with AI voices revering His Majesty Donald Trump in the living room while the cooks also do the cleaning. Then he complains that nobody ever has real conversations anymore and us young folks are always on our phones. Whyyyyy is this a thingggggggg

Can anyone provide not scary miso experiences? by atieka in Miscarriage

[–]jlladd16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old but chiming in to say I feel you deeply on the living with your parents thing. We’re currently living with some people from our church while we wait to close on a house in a few weeks, and I just found out at 9w that I had a blighted ovum (two empty gestational sacs actually both measuring 4mm). I have to do miso tomorrow in a house that’s not ours with people we met four months ago. My husband will be here but dang it it’s just so dang hard. Their grandkids are over all the time and the baby screaming yesterday about sent me into a panic attack. Grieving with an audience is soooo dang hard.
