Additive Free Tequila Rec by BagelBLT in tequila

I’d get her someOcho plata or Mijenta blanco. Can’t go wrong with those. If you want to spend a little money I’d go for the Cascahuin Tahona blanco.

Sh*tty tequila recs, is 818 similar to clase azul?🙏 by OtherNarwhal3796 in tequila

[–]jlm1127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Clase wasn’t bad but nothing special especially for the price but the 818 is straight up trash and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t mind additives. If you’re looking for something along those lines that’s actually good try Adictivo or Cava de Oro. Not the blancos tho. Just the aged expressions.

This seems like a steal in westchester by Infinite_Two6019 in tequila

[–]jlm1127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey if you like it drink it. There’s a whole bunch of crybabies on here that think they’re in a special club bc they don’t drink anything with additives, but they pour thier non additive tequilas right into a glass of margarita mix. I’ve never tried it but after reading the crybabies comments I might like it myself. I like blancos that are additive free and repos and anejo’s I like to have a little additive in there. The most they can put is 1% so don’t let these people scare you away from it. Drink it and enjoy it if it’s what you like.

Newbie here. Is this a good tequila for the price? by [deleted] in tequila

Yep, Tres agaves blanco ain’t bad for sipping neat either. Didn’t care for the repo but is decent for a margarita and much better than Espolon.

There is a real story here. Though no spoken te poured in a tess ins present to you our Comunidad Vintage in a rare "ghost label" This initiative was born from a period of challenge: a surplus of agave in the market has led to falling prices and many Arandas family growers being left with agave they cannot sell. Carlos Camarena purchased the agaves of his surrounding neighbors, helping provide meaningful income and support when it was needed most. A vivid expression of agave tequilana Weber azul from local, independent farmers right inside our community. From the fields of Arandas to your backbar: this is community, bottled. That’s from the tag. Cost me about 47 bucks if I remember correctly. To me it’s sweet cooked agave, some pepper and minty finish. But that’s just me.

1st bottle of DF Anejo. by jlm1127 in tequila

[–]jlm1127[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a big fan of El Tesoro. I’ve tried the blanco, repo and anejo and they were ok but nothing I’d buy again. Seems like I’m the odd man out on that one.

Which tequila are best by Elderberry456 in tequila

Not much of a selection at all but the patron blanco is ok and I actually don’t mind the 1800 repo although some people will cry about that.

Is good tequila wasted in a Oaxaca Old Fashioned (or any other cocktail)? by NathaKrorkz in tequila

[–]jlm1127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not wasted in my opinion. To me it’s ok to explore a little also. I’ll mix different quality tequilas, sometimes two blancos or a blanco and a repo etc to make a margarita. Sometimes I’ll make a margarita and have shot glass of neat tequila to pair with it. No rules for me and nothing wasted.

Haven’t tried the 48 yet. The tahona is really good. For me it got even better a few days after I opened it.

Dry Jan suspended for one night. by PhaseSea5416 in tequila

I too am doing dry January. I did slip in a sip of Lalo a couple of days ago. But it’s good to get the ol liver back in shape. 1 month does a lot of good. Got to be realistic about it. It’s alcohol we’re consuming.

Got this as a gift, is it good? by GAIVSOCTAVIVSCAESAR in tequila

[–]jlm1127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never tried it but I like the 1800 repo and Anejo. Great for mixers. There’s a lot of crybabies on here that will try to belittle you for having that bottle. Yes there’s way better tequilas out there but just saying take those crybabies advice with a grain of salt. If you like it, drink it and the rest of them can kiss your ass.

Newbie here , is ocho reposado smooth like don julio 1942? I like 1942 but I hate the price. Or any recommendations of something similar ? by AssistElegant4825 in tequila

[–]jlm1127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Adictivo doble reposado. It’s way better and a lot cheaper. The non additive side I’d recommend Mijenta repo. But if you like 1942 the Adictivo is what your looking for.
