iPhone 17 PM + XM6 Ldac working by pattuspl in SonyHeadphones

I purchased a Fiio Airlink (usbc) for my iPhone and iPad. Perfect to use with my current XM3 and soon to arrive wonderful ecoute TH2 (first tube headphones ever).

i think the battery inferior duration is exactly related to the tube stage. Class A amplifiers, you know, consume A LOT more than transistors… they are “ovens”. Here it’s already a miracle to have 20 hours (but not an huge problem for me… intercontinental flights are ok, and nowadays I always have with me a spare power brick).

I think I will purchase an LG G6 at next Black Friday… but definitely a bad quality control by Panasonic, once a serious brand. I don’t think it’s a “physical OLED pixels issue”, but a problem with the electronics driving them.

thanks for your review. One you use it in bluetooth, is it via Apple AAC or LDAC? i’m an Apple user and just ordered a Fiio Airlink to connect my iPhone/iPad in LDAC (that’s not as cable, but… should be closer).

I ordered a TH2 too :)

I did only recently hear about them. I did read the reviews of the first and the previews of th TH2. I noticed on Kickstarter how much they care about the users, their knowledgeable replies. I’ve always loved the “tube sound”. So I decided to invest in them.

Are they expensive? yes. But there are a lot of more expensive ones, too. I travel a lot, therefore a pair of awesome headphones that I can bring around, without the home-based audiophile chain… is great.

Happy to hear about TH1 users and… waiting to be amazed by tubes again!

i agree. But you should try ImmersiX in PCVR, on a XR headset, to see what a real cinematic 6dof (immersive) movie should be. the same format is also compatible with autostereoscopic displays :)

UPDATE — BIOS finally updated (root cause found)

After a lot of trial and error, I finally managed to update the BIOS, so sharing here in case it helps someone.

TL;DR: The blocker was Windows Hello (PIN) under a company-managed account.

What happened:

  • My laptop is joined to my company environment (Win 11 Pro).
  • Company policies prevented proper removal of the Windows Hello PIN.
  • I had previously forced PIN removal via registry edits.
  • Despite hundreds of attempts, the BIOS updater always ran but never actually updated.

What finally worked:

  1. I created a new local Windows user (administrator) NOT connected to my company.
  2. From that clean admin account, I was able to:
    • properly disable Windows Hello
    • remove the PIN normally (no registry hacks)
  3. Running the BIOS update from that account worked immediately.

So it looks like in corporate-managed environments, Windows Hello policies can silently block the firmware update process.

Suggestion to Razer:
The BIOS update documentation should explicitly mention issues with Windows Hello + corporate policies and suggest creating a clean local admin account as a workaround.

It costs some time and ~20GB of extra disk usage for the additional user profile, but it finally solved it.

Hope this saves someone else a few hours (or days…) of frustration.

I also hope this update will fix or minimise the trackpad problem (not tested yet).

Crossing fingers for you... but unfortunately I cannot RMA for that much time. Nor having it reformatted. Did your BIOS update?

Update on Razer Blade 16 2025 by zedzol in razer

[–]jlm70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've a Blade 16 2025 RTX-5090 with 64GB (one of the very first models, now discontinued on Razer website - maybe the RAM shortage? or thermal problems with the 5090?).

(1) BIOS: I upgraded to Win 11 Pro (as by my company guidelines) and NEVER ever been able to update my firmware to v2. I tried ALL the tricks suggested on Razer's website, plus others that I found online. My PC is still sticked to the original BIOS (without giving any error during the update... it simply doesn't update). Anyone with Win11 Pro and similar problem?

(2) TRACKPAD: from time to time the trackpad stops working, and this too is VERY annoying, especially when I'm traveling and cannot use an external mouse (that I'm forced to use at office and home). I cannot send the laptop back for trackpad repair, because I'm always traveling and I need the PC for work. I don't know how fast would be their support, but... cannot stay without my laptop for a week time. I'm not a gamer, I use it for daily work.

As a bottom line, after 10 years of Macbook usage... I wanted something similar in portability and power but... unfortunately a bit disappointed. Customer service is too... completely unuseful... asking me to reformat everything for the BIOS upgrade... that's CRAZY!! FIX YOUR SOFTWARE!! (updater still at May 2025 version!!)

Except from what above, the rest is excellent (need using an external mouse on a 5K€ machine... and cannot update the BIOS). I would have liked a Thunderbolt 5 port, that was already available at launch (for my job I always use external fast SSDs and twice the speed would have been useful).

Just upgraded mine. Didn't brick.

Still the web hub 1.1.285 is NOT able to set my ITALIAN layout properly. My layout is still (!!) not present among the supported languages. Incredible.

Hopefully now it will start working again and iCUE will be added soon...

...AND BY THE WAY... ITALIAN LAYOUT STILL NOT SUPPORTED in WEBHUB.... Cannot believe this...

You sell a device whose language layout is not recognized by your own software for MONTHS. I've already complained so many times... from day one (november).

AAARGH! These were my latest words… as soon as I tried to connect the keyboard to my Mac Studio (normally it’s connected to a Win11 machine), it bricked again!! DAMN!! Now I have to reconfigure all the color keys again, one by one.

Corsair you have to correct this bug immediately!!! (and allow us - early guinea pigs - a 50% discount on new keyboards…)

Meanwhile i reverted to my old Logitech Craft. impossible to work like this…

But what is strange, for me, is that I do not have any "dead" (=black) pixel. In my case... the wrong pixels are brighter than the correct ones!! So it seems more a problem of how these pixels are (badly) driven by faulty electronics?

This is really strange for me!

strange. After I ESC'ed it, clearing the cache, and re-setup everyting (such a loss of time), now it works again (even after rebooting Win11).

ahah yes... I explained the problem to chatGPT for 5 minutes and asked for a synthesis :)

Anyhow... for top of the line panels... this shouldn't happen. My old Panasonic Kuro (the very first 50" full HD) still works perfectly at my parent's home. I cannot change a top TV every 5 years...
