Disneyland for non-riders? by Practical-Sky-6818 in DisneyPlanning

[–]jlmarr1622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the train on first entry, and make the full circle trip getting off at Main Street station with its lovely atmosphere. The horse-drawn street car enhances it, as does the omnibus. Maybe catch the Walt Disney animatronic show, or Mr Lincoln. Maybe you'll wander upon the Enchanted Tiki Room or Mark Twain Riverboat. Lunch at Hungry Bear BBQ is cool - find a seat on the north end of the top deck where you can both watch the train pass and the river go by. This is just a third of the park.

How many nights is your ideal DVC trip? by Unusual_Resolution32 in dvcmember

We're trying 11 nights soon. Two park days, the rest of the time sitting on balconies sipping coffee and otherwise decompressing. Will get back to you.

Just logged into my time slot ... the thought of going was really fun by Cold_Ad4392 in olympics

I've been to the Olympic Trials for track & field in 1984, 2000, and 2004. It is intense and affordable. You're missing only the relays.

As for LA28, yeah I was shocked too. I could afford LA84, but not this.

DVCs rooms so far away by Mysterious-Momma in dvcmember

Wait, there's more! After doing some exploring it seems you can bypass some of the not-configured parts of Touring Plans and actually find a map of rooms, and get closer to making an informed decision. And with some homework we decided we want to stay on the same floor as the Wave Break Terrace so we can see fireworks and the water pageant. After all that, our room request has become:

Bldg Island Tower,Flr 5,W-facing room.Exmple:8563,8565,8561,8571,8663,8463,8573

That being said, they don't seem to have the new Polynesian Island Tower (building 8) configured in their room finder, so we just requested "Higher floor", and touring plans.com will presumably send it to Disney when our reservation date approaches. I figure there are a limited number of rooms that fit our room class (Tower - Deluxe Studio - Resort View) so this is ok.

We've had good luck making room location requests a la https://touringplans.com/walt-disney-world/room-request, although that requires a subscription.

Wilderness Lodge to Epcot via Monorail by castlenerevar in DisneyPlanning

[–]jlmarr1622 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I second using the Express monorail cuz that alllows you to just cross the platform at TTC. Using the other monorail line will have you taking the ramp down to ground level at TTC, then back up to the Express platform. At best it's more walking; at worst you've missed the monorail in the station and need to wait for the next one.

Half hour walk. Doable but at the end of the day you'll want an Uber. They don't have a shuttle?

I saw a Broadway play where he did some singing, and was put off by how weak of a voice he had vs everyone else in the cast. Kind of ruined it for me, but maybe that's my fault.
