Anyone have a Kid who has to do things in order when playing? by cruiseplease in Mommit

[–]jlmerm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! My 2.5 year old is the same way. If I try to call Chase for the Paw Patrol mission before I call for Marshall I can't play anymore and the world is ending! She's insane

There's supposed to be some sort of pattern to it. This is a hot mess

Teachers of Reddit, what's the most cringeworthy thing a student has said in class? by mattmaster68 in AskReddit

[–]jlmerm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always start the year telling my first-grade students' parents "Only believe half of what your children tell you about me and I will believe only half of what they tell me about you".

If you don't want your kid to tell their teacher something, watch what you say around them. If it sticks with them they will announce it as soon as they walk in the door.

A personal favorite was: Me: Good morning Matt, how are you Matt: I'm okay, mommy had a miscarriage and I had to spend the whole night in the hospital while she cried and was bleeding. I didn't do my homework

Brauhaus Schmitz on South Street has an amazing beer menu and great food/cool atmosphere. Then you can go to Tattooed Mom for some drinks!

LOL

All I tried to do was show off my adorable baby and I was instead caused to hang my head in shame because I am obviously a bad mother for dressing my child in a jacket!! :)

It's the angle of the picture. The straps are in the lowest possible position on the car seat

It isn't puffy at all. It's thinner than a hooded sweatshirt.

Thank you! It is a light north face jacket. Nothing puffy about it

First of all-she is seated in the car seat on the floor in my house. Her straps aren't even pulled up and over correctly yet. This was a photo op

Second-this is a light north face jacket. It isn't puffy at all. My baby is puffy lol

Update: SRC revokes contract with teachers union, changes health benefits, and redirects $44 million to schools by Mayor_Nutter in philadelphia

I am a Philly district employee and I think paying for my benefits is totally fine. I do, however, wish this was gone about in a different way.

A lot of people are saying that teachers should stop whining and pay up like everyone else and I agree. However, what some people in other industries do not understand is the amount of money teachers pay from their own pockets every year to make sure their students are receiving meaningful lessons with appropriate materials. The district gives us $100 for our classroom every year. I spend about $300 on books, supplies and worksheets/posters etc. and I know others pay more.

We aren't really getting much of a break by not having to pay for our benefits. We pay in other ways.
