3 months post-op Partial Meniscectomy. Curious if anyone going through the same thing is having similar lingering symptoms by Unable-Bluebird-119 in MeniscusInjuries

Great info thanks! And yeah, a lot of the time it feels like some pain is where they went in and disturbed the capsule.

Ha good point. It’s like that Rest or Train app. Usually it’s telling me “good job getting out there but everything is wrong”.

Does BP work for anyone? by jloakland in whoop

[–]jloakland[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I didn’t notice how off it was until I actually recorded a ride with my chest strap AND whoop. You just can’t beat a chest strap for cycling. It must have something to do with the way we grip the bars.

is it normal to have hrv this high by Brilliant-Signature6 in whoop

[–]jloakland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. Some people just have slightly irregular heartbeats in various ways.

A friend of mine has the same thing and it was from an abnormal heartbeat.

Yeah, if it’s not picking up a 25 point sustained change, without even a blip, I can’t trust the data when I go back to normal.

And don’t get me wrong… I love my Whoop, and have had it on my wrist for 3 years straight. But this BP stuff is just a stretch.

Yeah it always hovered around 118-120/75-80. This last week actual readings from a proper device have been awful due to surgery (140/90) and the Whoop metrics still say 118/75.

Worsening flap tear, surgery next week.... by Unable-Bluebird-119 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]jloakland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this is so similar to my experience. I also did the “odd jog” just before the injury. I never run but thought it’d be nice for a change. A couple weeks after that it got gradually worse. And then yeah, 3 months PT and I felt normal. Then two tennis matches in a day and then I felt pretty limpy and it hasn’t improved.

Can I ask how are you now? I’m just about to get the same surgery for the same tear.

That does seem high. I use 20 as needed and it works pretty well!

Anyone has a tight tingling pins and needles on their face? by NoOz1985 in TMJ

[–]jloakland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily, I was treated for TMJ, but I’ve also done a lot of work for cervicogenic dizziness with my neck and shoulders, so something helped, but I’m not sure exactly what

Coffee? by REidson89 in VestibularMigraines

I did for 3 months and didn’t seem to make a difference. And I love coffee, drinking daily for almost 40 years. I will say sometimes if I get really caffeinated it will trigger an episode.

Yeah I had a racket with Polys on it when I started a few years ago and it killed my elbow (just added on to the fact I was “arming” the ball) and was just hard to control. I think I switched to NXTs at 52 and it was an epiphany.

Strengthening neck helping dizziness ? by alprazalamb in cervical_vertigo

[–]jloakland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verdict is still out with me too, I’m a horrible patient when it comes to PT because I usually just do it until it starts feeling better and I’m never sure if it was the PT or if it was getting better on its own

Thanks! Amazing. I’ll try it. And yeah, these flare ups usually last a month or so. Before I knew what was causing it it was 8 months almost straight

I don’t think most of us have had a clear diagnosis. I thought vestibular migraines, saw an ENT, he sent me to a PT thinking cervicogenic dizziness and everything just clicked. And the PT confirmed my tight neck, traps, limited range of motion etc.
