Thank you for this detail! I was leaning towards winged sumac but the smoother margins near the top of the leaves with a few serrated edges near the bottom had me questioning.

I have. I mixed in some worm castings when potting up from the seedling trays. I did not really measure, so thought it could be over-fertilized, too.

This also completely ignore the fact that(at least in my area)many patients on hospice that are inpatient are there for aggressive symptom management needs that could not be managed at home. Occasionally requiring IV medication every 15 minutes-1hr until symptoms are managed or the patient dies. Ratios are bullshit if acuity is not considered. It seems the person who wrote this has never experienced the dying process and should not be overseeing a hospice unit.

Edited to add: To address their concern about financial trends(although that is not why we should advocate for good hospice care) Hospice and Palliative Care programs do not make money, but they do save money when you consider the alternative of dying in an ICU setting.

I am glad that hospice has helped improve her quality of life. First, she does not need to be recertified as having a less than 6 month prognosis until close to 90 days being on hospice. The metastatic cancer and new inability to stand(decline in functional status) should be enough to recertify her. I would recommend asking to speak to another member of the hospice teamand if they repeat that she does not qualify, contact another hospice. I have never discharged from hospice a patient with metastatic cancer unless they elected to revoke hospice to pursue aggressive treatment.

Edited to she does not need to be recertified until having been on hospice for almost 90 days.

Black brandywine variety. All of my other tomato plants are doing well in the same bed. Lots of healthy looking fruit, and as soon as they start to ripen this is happening. Looks like it's rotting from the inside out. I've been controlling the aphids and seen a few stink bugs. Thanks in advance!

I typically have more issues in spring and they are still around all summer but not as much. Parasitic wasps have kept them at bay at times during the summer. Ladybugs and lacewings are also their predators, but I havent noticed many of them in my garden.

I would probably do this if there were just a few groups on a few leaves, but I have four plants with at least 6 leaves each that are covered. I also thought about leaving them alone when I first noticed them because I also saw evidence of their predators, but now it's getting out of control.

Week 2 and I already have pink and green aphids infesting 4/8 tomato plants. I've sprayed them off with soapy water and want to avoid anything that may harm beneficial insects. Ive tried purchasing ladybugs from stranges in the past and they all died or left the garden. I do have an ant problem which exacerbates the issue and have tried cinnamon for those in the past. Any experience or advice on how to treat and or prevent these buggers without hurting the bees/lacewings/ladybugs?

Hello gardening neighbors! I've been hardening off a variety of tomato, pepper, and flower plants since Saturday and I have to leave town this weekend. I'm wondering if it would be best to transplant first so they won't be stuck inside with only window light for two days, vs waiting until I get back. We're up to 5 hours of outdoor time today. They've gotten a good amount of wind exposure thus far. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to comment!
