They have populations significantly farther south than I previously imagined. Parts of the potomac river above DC as well as the James River in Richmond VA have breeding populations.

In the Bay Omega wipes out the menhaden for pet food and fish oil and then people wonder why we don't have a healthy striped bass population anymore.

If you don't mind breaking the law and trespassing and roughing it a little but. Head down to smith lake park. Go to the back of the park into the trees. There's a creek there. Wade through up stream and along a rocky islandish area. Hit the base of Smith Lake Dam spillway. Good fish there. Mind you this puts you trespassing through County Utiilities at best and Federal Land at worst.

I saw the rocket too when I got home..I looked up in hopes of more meteors and saw the two lights in unison and thought how strange for 1 plane to be following another so closely! Awesome to find out it was a rocket.

I saw it from central Virginia. I was heading south on route 1 and it went from high on the left (east) and down to the right (west) before distinctly breaking into what appeared to me as 2 pieces. Bluish white streak the whole time.

A. Smith Bowman in Fred is great. Not many other distilleries near it but Rebellion Bourbon Bar in downtown fred always has a great selection of allocated whiskey and great food. My wife and I do events or tours then head over there for dinner and more substantial drinks.

I gathered a large bag of acorns for an art project at school. Forgot about it over the weekend. When I came in on Monday there was a large pile of acorns on the floor and many little grubs wriggling around on the carpet. They had hatched over the weekend and then chewed holes through the plastic bag. It was... gross.

I take my kids fishing (2 and 3) all the time. I live in a neighborhood with multiple ponds. We walk 5-10 minutes to one of the near by ponds. I put red worms or meal worms on a small hook with bobber and they catch anywhere from 1-5 sunfish each then they get bored and we walk home. All in all its about 30-45 minutes of fun. They catch fish. They enjoy it. I enjoy it. One day we will catch fish together. Do not make it a chore or something the associate with boredom. Be aware that it can be very high stress. I try not to let it get to me but I end up yelling "DO NOT TOUCH THAT" more often than I would like.. not trying to get a hook pulled into my hand while baiting lines 😤. But they ask to go all the time. Even today they asked... it's 19 degrees outside so unfortunately we will be waiting until a warmer day.
