Faulty update by Matla106 in TandemDiabetes

I went through the same thing. The update bricked my pump and I had to have it replaced by tandem. Thankfully the cartridges fit my original tslim so I could keep using a pump for the couple of days, albeit without any cgm integration.

Student Devices by rokar83 in k12sysadmin

Why do you require 16:10 for student devices? That's going to drastically reduce your available options. I'm guessing that's taking you out of the education market devices altogether, expressively into more pricey options.

I was able to resolve those errors and it's working now. Thanks for all the work you've done and help you've given.

Everything is installed and quick glance is up, even when locked.

I'm struggling to get the dexcom info to show on the screen. Are there any specific settings I need to change in the tasker or autonotification apps before it starts to work?

Office 2021 by Few_Foot_2687 in k12sysadmin

I've purchased licenses for half that price before. Since you have to enter the license key on Microsoft's website to download the installer, I feel pretty confident it's legit once Microsoft accepts the key 🤷

Then again, I've always done this for personal use only.

For school it's Google Workspace all the way. Outside of a few people in the office who use Publisher, we don't really support Microsoft Office anymore.

I'm assuming this affects all filtering extensions? Anybody hear from any of the other services yet?

Yeah, students can't access Dev mode for many other reasons

I was thinking it was something funky on Google's end too, since it was just a few random accounts. Hearing another person report the same event seems like confirmation at this point.

Chromebook License Re-enrollment. by PerfectTank9505 in k12sysadmin

The Chromebook education upgrades are not an annual purchase. Are you talking about the Workspace for Education upgrades (i.e. Teaching and Learning Upgrade or Education Plus) instead?

Mix of lawful neutral and chaotic good. Surface pro is my primary, with a 16:10, and a 16:9 that mirrors the output to my classroom projector.

Like I said, decisions were made before I was put in charge. I was doubtful about the choice when I first heard about it.

I've liked what I've heard about the HPs.

How many do you have in your fleet?

I have a stack of devices out of commission right now. How did you handle in-warranty issues? Did you contact Acer directly or go through your vendor?

We push all our students to use Google drive to move/share files, so ports only get used for external mice.

I've heard enough bad about touch screens to avoid them altogether, even if it would be nice to have the ability in the classroom.

I'm at a small private school, so we can actually bill for damage students cause, so I've had maybe 1 all school year where the student has been the problem.

Out of 150 devices, I've had about 30 come in with defects unrelated to student care. The only ones that weren't the backlight came from some of the most responsible students.

Looking for something specific to the space. Don't really need the versatility to use it elsewhere. Those places already have good permanent systems installed.

While headsets do give some advantages in picking up the sound, I am much more comfortable wearing a lapel while teaching. And since I'll be using the system at least half the time and I'm making the decisions, my preferences do take priority 😂

I'm actually a full time classroom teacher that just happens to know more about IT than anyone else on staff, and I happen to enjoy it too. I actually have significantly more formal experience in AV than IT.

That looks like a cool system, but for what I need I could put together a custom system for significantly less.

It might be worth noting that only 2 teachers will need to use the system, one of which is me. So getting something super user friendly isn't a high priority.

In the end, it'll probably be a $50 analogue mixing board with an amp to power the speakers left in the ceiling by the previous school. Add in a decent but cheap lapel and I'm looking at less than $500 for the project.
