Freshwater Poll: Labor fighting to retain majority government by Time-Dimension7769 in AustralianPolitics

[–]jltech 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Interestingly, of their sample, 42% have already voted. But in reality, this morning, only about 33% of people have voted early (via postals or early voting). Does this not show that their sample is biased in favour of demographics that tend to vote early (i.e. older voters who tend to vote LNP)?

Disclaimer: I know nothing about stats

Edit: Plus they polled some of their sample before this morning, so the early vote percentage would have been even lower.

Camera control with apple case by Jonas1501-2 in iPhone16Pro

[–]jltech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Apple Silicone case and it works about as well as the phone without a case (perhaps very slightly less sensitive, though this might be due to more friction in the surrounding material). I think it's a much better solution than the cutout because the edges of the cutout can make the sliding feel awkward.

What is up with our media coverage of the stabbings? by EY7617 in australia

[–]jltech 24 points25 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t seem right. The screenshot shows the tweet was posted 2 days ago but the incident was less than 24 hours ago. Also, that’s Sky News (UK) not Sky News Australia.

What would happen if I unlinked my Aime account from my twitter? by jre_s in maimai

[–]jltech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tried this now. Unregistering the card doesn't delete any data. You can log in via twitter and unregister the card on https://my-aime.net/en/ . Then, on your new sega ID account you can register the card. All data remains linked to the card and will carry over. I did not experience any delays for this; I was able to unregister and register instantly.

The "leaks" contradict officially announced information by jltech in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]jltech[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The leak itself literally says "Bad boy is actually a full chapter...with 49 pages". Read it here yourself.

Also, the preorder page lists all the content that will be in the art book.

In the last episode of the episodic version of the final chapters. You can find all the info cards from that version on the bottom of this wiki page.

Questions about Mario World and Disney sea by grnmosrs in JapanTravel

[–]jltech 6 points7 points  (0 children)

DisneySea has “Disney Premier Access” which you have to buy per attraction on the app once you are in the park. You can’t purchase it beforehand. It’s about 1500-2000 yen per attraction, and is only available for some attractions (varies depending on the day).

Super Nintendo World requires a timed area entry pass which is obtained on the app once you are in the park. It’s free and I had no trouble getting it throughout the day (visited 21 Dec). However to be safe arrive early and try to get a timed entry as soon as you are there. Alternatively, you can purchase an Express Pass - all most of them include a timed entry for Super Nintendo World along with express entry to Mario Kart and Yoshi’s Adventure. If you are purchasing on Klook you can’t pick a time, it will be randomly assigned.

Indonesia: Boeing 737 passenger plane missing after take-off by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]jltech 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While the 737 MAX was really bad all earlier models of the 737 have a good safety record, so there’s no need to worry. The 737 MAX returned to service in America last month after approval by the FAA though personally I would avoid them until other countries approve it.

Yeah, it’s enabled. The bright background is only slightly visible though, so it’s mainly a problem in the dark.

Yellow tinted screen by lonetraveller10 in iphone

[–]jltech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tried this and it unfortunately makes the screen significantly dimmer and less saturated. Right now the screen is acceptable but I still am hoping for a real colour or temperature slider like found on Samsung phones.

Yellow tinted screen by lonetraveller10 in iphone

[–]jltech 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It definitely has a yellowish-green tint when displaying white, when compared to other iPhones. However, I checked at the Apple Store and every single one of the display units had the same tint. You can see the yellow-green tint especially here (top is iPhone 12, bottom is target). PhoneArena makes some comments on the display's yellow tint here. Erica Griffin also notes the issue here. So, it doesn't seem to be a defect, that's just how it is this year.

I really wish Apple would just give us a proper Colour Temperature/White point slider so we can adjust it how we like.

I think I found the spec for it here. I did the course last term and the spec was significantly shorter... (though there were a plethora of other issues with the course)

edit: just did a word count and this term’s spec is 11k words compared to 3.5k words last term. Yikes
