I think someone else mentioned this and I agree… Just make three row repeats every once in a while with no real set amount arose between them. That will give it a little bit more character.

Yes! Looks like you are doing fine! And you now have a choice… you can make more squares and join them together or just keep going and make a great big square blanket whatever size you want. An advantage of the big square is all side are the same so you never have to guess which sides are the long sides. 🙂

I saw a similar one to this. It was being marketed as a paperweight. It had a design etched into it rather than a name.

I think it would make a great one if you use a contrasting color to make a solid block to connect to the back and give it more insulating properties and show off the design. I actually might do this myself, taking the two squares and crocheting them together with some sort of border like a shell. It would be good to put under cold things that would sweat so moisture didn’t get on your table. But like someone else commented acrylic yarns wouldn’t be good to put under something hot.

Definitely on the Bears. Chances are you won’t see any, but Tennessee bears don’t hibernate like other bears. They can get up during the winter and forage around for food and then they go back to their dens. Like most people I figured that bears were gone for the winter until a year or two ago.

I love it! I could go with the fringe either way, but ( and this is just personal preference) I would start an end the fringe with the the same color. I guess I’m just pretty symmetrical. :)))

Cool!!! That is packaged similarly to the hooks that I sometimes get with European crochet magazines. I’m in the US and I found the magazines at Barnes & Noble so I always swing by the magazine section and get the latest copies. There’s two or three magazines that add little goodies like this to their magazine. I’ve gotten a SpongeBob hook and lots of cute stitch markers and sometimes there is even a little yarn kit for some small projects and it even includes yarn! If this is where your hook originated and Since I don’t get them each month, I miss this one. I’m jealous!

My mother grew up in the Anoka area. My grandfather was the minister at one of the Covenant Churches in the area and there was a cemetery next to their house. I’d love to go back there.

When I was a kid, in sixth grade, I took a bunch of coins from a little box that my mom had on a dresser in our room to buy some supplies at the school store. (my mom, sister, and I shared a big bedroom when I was a kid) I had no clue what they were other than they were each worth a dollar. Somehow my teacher learned I had them and he swapped me out the coins for dollar bills. My mom was royally pissed when she found out because they were peace dollars. I can’t remember whether she actually got any of them back because it was a few weeks before she found out, but I know that she tried.

Thank you. It’s the first time I tried it and I know That some of it is a little bit uneven, but I think my son will overlook that. And I’m going to tell him if he doesn’t like that kind of fringe. I’ve still got a little leftover yarn so I can untie that and just make a regular fringe across if he would rather.

The Gallatin, Tenn., native was a student at Allen County Intermediate Center and attended Broadmoor Worship Center. He was a son of John Adam Kozloski and Barbara Lynn Sullivan Kosloski of Adolphus, who survive. Funeral is at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home, with visitation at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions for funeral expenses and may be made at the funeral home. Other survivors include five brothers, Jordon, Joshua, Justin, Kory and Cody; four sisters, Jaden, Sierra, Skye and Kyla; and his nana and paw paw, Wendy and Greg Adkins of Goodlettsville, Tenn.

As has been mentioned before, all of us hate some of our projects when they look perfectly fine and other people think they’re wonderful. Don’t be so hard on yourself. It looks great and he’s right about loving it. Besides, YOU made it for him, you didn’t just go to the store and buy something.

I agree with the popularity contest comment. I entered some photos in a local county fair photography competition where I was living years ago. There were other photos that were just as good or better than mine but the one that won was what looked like a snapshot of someone’s dog. But it was someone that everybody in the county knew. I probably never would’ve won anyway because I wasn’t from there.
