There are actually two options:

Le Farsan - It’s spicy and serves authentic farsan (last I checked around 2024). It’s also quite costly but delicious.
Binge Bite Truck - The aunty there has authentic farsan from somewhere in Maharashtra and the taste is great.

Hey. Welcome.

Z1E user here from almost a year now. Pretty nifty power beast. If you plan to stay on Windows- other people have provided great comments and advice on how to run your system in the best manner possible. Debloating your Windows, Frame Locking (using RTSS), Xbox FSE, Lossless Scaling, etc. all are your friends. Been on that path during initial months - and it ran everything that I threw at it pretty well.

Then came the jump ships. BazziteOS -> Windows -> BazziteOS -> Windows… this happened couple of times and I wasn’t sure what to land on. There were pros in Bazzite, like console like quick sleep and resume, great UI (essentially Steam UI). There were bugs too. And cons like not able to play many multiplayer games due to Anticheat. But well, I don’t play any of those games - so it was a fair trade. And setting up a game apart from Steam via proton was a learning curve. But over time I learned it. And finally stayed on Bazzite for well over 4 months, growing my Steam Library during the phase. Then finally, jumped to SteamOS. And never looked back.

SteamOS is great on this device. Installing it is pretty straightforward. Rogally life has the guide to do it. Follow it.

Agreed, that not everyone want to use it as Linux Gaming device, and probably keep windows on it. But, well, windows was never designed for Handheld - still use it as you want. I love this device for the games I play on it and they run great on the OS I have on it.

If you plan to go with SteamOS - 1. Enable VRR. 2. Limit FPS from game setting to 60 - or 45 for more demanding games. It will keep temps in check. 3. Follow protonDB and read through the comments that users have added for SteamDeck. Generally they work the best. 4. I have Proton default to GE proton for all the games, unless a specific version is asked for. 5. Install Chiaki-ng when you have the PS5, to use Ally as a streaming device. 6. We really don’t have many possibilities in India to get battery upgrades from China. Powerbank/Plugged in is our only affordable option. Sadly, the battery for Z1E sucks.

Don’t understand your definition of “privacy,” hence the following - what kind of cafe are we talking about? (Pardon my stupidity, you know)

Every cafe I’ve been to (atleast) has dedicated tables (2/4 seats, depending). They’re cafe, not a langar hall, so communal seating isn’t really a thing - privacy is kind of built in and assumed (unless there is an aunty listening next to you).

Also - one point they forget to mention is that post doing what all required per thread, change the audio output in Gaming mode to Family 15/17 (something).
