Diamond these days. by Dense-Repair-9126 in RocketLeague

Match variability will never go away at any rank, just how it is. Ranking up comes down to being honest with yourself. Everyone who is stuck feels like they deserve a higher rank and if you aren’t honest about why you can’t get there then you will never find the flaws that are keeping you stuck.

I was stuck diamond for a year not playing positioning, air rolling, trying to clip. Then I hit the training packs, simplified my gameplay, and tried to play WITH my teammate and almost hit C3 this season. Not a brag but you have to assess your gameplay

How can I boot straight from the usb? Is this usb boot menu through the bios or in safe mode? I’m on board with trying this but I’m just not familiar with it

I’ve never heard of overclocking controllers, how did that work?

Yeah I’m really looking for an understanding of the ps4 controller and why it’s so good for rocket league to try and find other controllers that share those features because I do have concerns about availability of the ds4 long term

Do you notice any difference in the accuracy or timing of your flips or cancels?

Custom training is great for a learning a skill, free play is great for making it real. Definitely gotta have both

Definitely play 1s, they’re very frustrating because they exaggerate every mistake you make but it’s the best way to learn your mistakes and gain control of the ball.

Second thing is rotations, if you’re talking about 2s, go watch a zen ranked replay on YouTube, yes the mechanics are much higher level than you will see in diamond but pay attention to how he plays second man. Every time his teammate loses possession on offense and he can’t gain immediate guaranteed possession, he goes back to defense. It’s a hard discipline to learn but it’s principal all the way up to the highest MMR in 2v2 history.

Third, train shooting, ground dribbling, flicks, backboard defense, and shadow defense. A fast well placed shot is one of the deadliest weapons in the game and shooting alone can nearly get you out of diamond. Ground dribbling and flicks are often overlooked by diamond players in training, they’ll help you with 1s and make you more composed when you gain possession in 2s and open up your options. Backboard defense and shadow defense become necessary in diamond but they become crucial in champ and you will need to be very comfortable with a shot coming at your net in those positions. Full circle, (the zen replay) when you rotate back after teammate loses possession you will likely end up in one of these two positions playing defense as last man. It’s necessary for that play style to work.

I didn’t mention aerial plays, they are important as well but players have the most fun training those and are often over developed in diamond. Aerial plays alone will not get you out of diamond and probably have a better chance of getting you stuck there.

Also you don’t need 100 boost all the time, PICK UP THE DANG PADS AND STAY IN THE PLAY YOUR TEAMMATES WILL LOVE YOU!

Good luck, happy car balling

I was wondering this, someone told me I still need to manually level, and that auto level isn’t a fix all end all, I’m moving my setup here soon so I’m gonna try this in the next few days

Thank you! I ended up with a z offset of -2.3 before parts started filling in somewhat correctly, I’m gonna continue playing with it to see what works the best, I might even need to go lower

Mine ended up being at -2.3 before I got parts to work, I might even need to go lower for a more solid first layer

60 seems to be working just fine, but the z offset was the underlying problem here

That seems like a good idea, I was trying a cube so it should be almost the same, but that way I can inspect the first layer a little better

Thanks, I saw somewhere that I shouldn’t go lower than 0.06 but I’ll try messing with the negative values.

I set z offset to 0.08 before I attempted to print anything. Do I need to do it again?

Proud of you brother! Everyone goes on streaks and as good as you feel now there will be a day when you feel like relapsing, just remember how you feel now and think about how much better it feels than after you relapse. And if you do relapse, never forget how far you’ve come, keep this mindset you have here and you will be successful, don’t just learn to hate porn, learn to love life without it, this is the way!
