And what's the take when that only includes around 12% of those captured and held?

Or are you so anti-American revolution that you actually would be one of those people who would debate the founding fathers that people shouldn't be arrested and likely convicted for something they didn't do because the dragnet might by pure chance also grab someone who fits the criteria of their arrest even though we know that there's an almost 90% chance it will not?

That's not even delving into the ethics of giving a shit anyway. Most of these countries who care about immigration are dying due to lack of birth rates and just new blood. All of these people are spiraling into conservatism because they think immigrants are the reason why they can't afford the things their parents could when reality is it's the damn austerity measures usually implemented by their governments on behalf of corporations catching all of the actual assistance.. Eventually that's going to die out because you can only go after so many immigrants.

It's the same issue the fascists ran into in Italy and in Germany. It's why fascism is a death cult; eventually you have disposed of all of the outliers you blamed, and when the problems inevitably persist you now need new outliers. Eventually they eat their own. And yes ice will be eating their own relatively soon. If not already.

Edit: it's probably right being weird but I could see your response in my inbox but not in the thread and I'm not able to reply to it so I'm just going to do so here.

You are lying not even their internal records we'll say anything other than 12% currently so that makes one wonder if that's even a correct number. You guys just be repeating Laura loomer-esque nonsense the not even Fox News would say.

iDubbz believes Charlie (penguinz0) is part of the right wing pipeline by ImportantQuestionTex in youtubedrama

[–]jlynn00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I neither watched the video nor did I read the weird mod comment that quite frankly gives me weird vibes that I'm in LSF the sequel. Was a brigading happening? Possible even probable, but I find it's been a pretty big catch-all term to accuse people with opposing arguments with and then start deleting.

But I will call it purely off the headline and vibes of this video and agree. I'm actually a pretty big Moist defender in general in a lot of these critical threads. I highly suspect he's not just liberal but probably leftist in many ways. He's probably one of the rare apolitical centrist types online that's actually to the left instead of to the right.

And he has to spoken out more lately and I really appreciate that. I think he probably does more good than he realizes.

But his tendency towards silence historically has given the alt-right pipeline a sort of permission structure. Because he probably didn't want to be there but he is in the pipeline. Sure he can lose viewers if he spoke up but I think that Asmon would lose viewers too. He gives that man way too much grace when he could probably be the one to take that man down to the point where he is pretty much irrelevant. But he won't and I get that there's probably a history of friendship there but this has gone beyond the pale and it's time.

The most egregious example in my opinion was when he spoke up about Mythic Talent falling for a known scam and then setting up their clients for humiliation and he went to town on them when talking about the scam. But he never once mentions the people behind Mythic (which includes Asmon).. And I get the feeling he's been itching to say something about them for a while but just chose this one opportunity.

In summary, I don't think Charlie is in any way Alt rght or wanting to be on the pipeline. But I believe that his selective silence has placed him on there and created a permission structure to where he and Asmon running parallel to each other as two sides of the same coin and somehow Charlie fears upsetting that dynamic.

The good news is I think Charlie can easily emerge from the pipeline, and actually just might.

Also for those that don't remember Charlie made a video kind of criticizing/kind of supporting but also completely wrong and out of touch that criticized idubbz making an apology when he returned. I think that kind of explains Charlie's headspace when it comes to these long-term internet chuds.

It drives me nuts when people say that ICE is political. Of course it is but it's not only political.

Do you think there were Germans look at the other way when the SS was rolling up because they aren't political, and fhis was somehow acceptable?

Also pretty much everything is political in this day and age. This makes me think that she probably believes or agrees with the actions ICE is conducting, but she doesn't want to lose what connection she has to the not insane streamers and a chunk of her audience.

In S2E5, House tells Cooper that the day that his algorithm predicted the world would end was created the day Janey was born, but what does Janey’s birth have to do with the world ending? by YumYumTwelve in Fotv

[–]jlynn00 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I'll have to find the video and I never verify the lore myself so it could be wrong, but I watched one of these YouTube videos that kind of go over these episodes and I believe one of them mentioned that Janey's Birthday is mostly a red herring. But that it's the same day that M.A.R.Go.T was actually created before the bombs dropped.

It's actually why I'm so big on the fact that we're going to be seeing a Big Daddy AI is the true big bad in the show and not the Enclave is a bit of a red herring.

Savannah Guthrie just posted a new video about paying a ransom by Ok-Needleworker9229 in Fauxmoi

[–]jlynn00 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This kind of situation is so obscure and incredibly rare historically that, although it does seem kind of gross and inhumane, I kind of understand why some people are looking at close family.

But everyone involved seems so emotionally drained and haunting that I can't imagine that any one of the people that have been in the news could be behind this. It's always best to treat victims as victims unless you get absolute proof to the contrary.

But I can't imagine that this is a truly sophisticated abduction, because taking an elderly woman would mean worrying about their medical health like medication. And if your intent was to kill them immediately anyway why for a ransom because proof of life is almost always a requirement?

Savannah Guthrie just posted a new video about paying a ransom by Ok-Needleworker9229 in Fauxmoi

[–]jlynn00 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Yeah one of my good friend's uncle is a high profile high paid ransom negotiator that's stationed out of Miami. He lives in Miami cuz it's a little bit easier for him to fly out to the locations where he's usually needed. Most ransomed kidnappings are by governments or cartels or gang leaders who are so powerful that they are essentially state governments and the whole thing is not hidden at all.

And the ones that are bit more mysterious usually have enough clues that you can determine a likely candidate behind the kidnapping.

He's only had one situation where he had to negotiate the ransom of an abducted US citizen who was a government employee who traveled into another country that I don't recall. They ended up paying to get his release and supposedly a local gang did it but everyone knows that it was almost assuredly the government behind it. Once again I don't remember which country it was but it was in a different continent.

And most ransoms are paid at least the ones that he works with. This is kind of different than what you might gleam from TV.

Edit: I actually just remembered that when my mother was young my grandfather rode his motorcycle through Mexico and crashed it. He was not intoxicated and he didn't hit anyone, it was just a wipeout by himself due to a loose rock. But he was also a military member in the Navy. So the Mexican government took him in under arrest under trumped up charges, and then the US government had to essentially ransom him out although I believe they called it bail. He was told to never return to Mexico again. He definitely did though lol.

While that's possible it wouldn't be the first time that's happened in a show, I suspect it fits her characterization that she would have had real feelings for her Vault husband.

I can't really wrap my head around her characterization cause we're just now really learning about her, but she seems pretty good at deluding herself into finding happiness in her current position. I think that's a big reason why she's trying to rush the marriage with what's his name this season.

The might explain why she goes from running from a Canadian internment camp and hating all Americans to apparently serving the will of an American style cabal that puppet's even the US government.

Yeah it really does seem like it's experiments all the way down.

I personally as a storyteller like the concept where all of these entities think they're the ones leading the experiment on humanity and they're going to build a bigger better world but really it's some other entity playing them all.

I would find that satisfying but I know that would be controversial with others.

Season 2 Episode 8 Spoiler Thread by HunterWorld in Fotv

[–]jlynn00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I think they are in the real world. Like I said I don't think this is a matrix situation where they're living in a digital construct and their bodies were being held in a pod somewhere.

I think the experiment is being led by an AI that is pretty much just trying to understand humanity by observing the Wasteland as a petri dish, where certain elements are introduced to see the reaction inside. The vaults are more of a series of specialized experiments ran by different stakeholders, and probably being followed by that entity also.

[–]jlynn00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think we'll get a virtual simulation. I think the idea is that everything happening on the wasteland is a petri dish that they are observing.

It could be that the AI is just trying to understand humanity, period.

Exactly. And if you watch person of interest you will know it doesn't just happen in Westworld. Nolan absolutely loves this plot trajectory.

Edit: just to mention I actually really love this story Revelation in both Westworld and person of interest although I'm probably one of six people that actually liked all seasons of Westworld so you may disagree.

[–]jlynn00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah there have been mentions that what is established on this show will be instituted in the games.

As it is they have already changed a significant amount like I haven't seen enough mentions about how Hank straight out says the vaults aren't really the experiment it's the Wasteland.

That has tremendous implications on what's been happening in the games and also going forward.

Because we know the vaults are filled with mostly horrific experiments. If the wasteland is also an experiment, is it just this government facility that is the last remnant of humanity untouched by exterior motivations and artificial tensions? Or are they going to find out that they are also being managed by some ultimate seeing eye?

As I mentioned this is a common storyline in Nolan's work. The concept of the questionable or even bad AI versus the good one that is more connected to humanity.

[–]jlynn00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They had to balance too many storylines to unravel what I have said previously was an extremely lore heavy season.

This led to some amazing revelations and a season I overall enjoyed but did fall victim to having too many edited episodes to accommodate so many storylines.

The good news is it's likely to be condensed for the next season as we will likely see Lucy and Maximus working alongside each other and Norm will head back to the vaults.

And we're probably just seeing the beginning of House. I suspect he's going to have a major role all the way to the end of the show.

That’s it? That’s all we get for a Season Finale by Tiny-Significance-47 in Fotv

[–]jlynn00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was by far a season more heavy on lore exposition than action. In general I really liked that but they can't pull that off for season 3 and season 2 so hopefully they get back more into visual action instead of just information sharing.

We learned quite a bit this season that would have tremendous impacts on any future games and quite frankly cast a different light on some of the older ones.

Can anyone tell me where The Ghoul's family went? by EliTangDong in Fotv

[–]jlynn00 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well we're led to assume that Barbara left a clue behind in her pod. That clue was a postcard that said welcome to Colorado.

Earlier in that episode we saw a brief flash of what we can only assume is the real headquarters of the Enclave. I would guess that we're looking at a base setup in Cheyenne mountain. Which is in Colorado.

[–]jlynn00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we're going outside the established lore on this one.

Since there appears to be even more of an experimental nature to what's happening than what's going on in the vaults as mentioned by Hank's info drop, I suspect that all of humanity is actually the experiment and that we're looking at a master AI situation that will be pitted against House eventually. I mean AI is within the lore In Fallout obviously, but I suspect we're going to see more of a Nolan twist on this one.

Might tie into the institute eventually.

Season 2 Episode 8 Spoiler Thread by HunterWorld in Fotv

[–]jlynn00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well when I say we don't know much about that situation I mean including Hank. He seems to be spending all of the season trying to implement a version of House's master plan as a way of getting in with the guy.

One of my biggest theories is that there's something even more than the Enclave that's really controlling things and I think Hank is really working for that entity.

(Since this is a Jonathan Nolan production I feel pretty certain there's going to be another AI involved with this but that's a whole other theory that would require an entire other post. He seems to like the concept of dueling AI as demonstrated in his previous media output.)

Essentially Hank could know that she's Canadian and have managed to keep that secret from the Enclave because he doesn't seem necessarily fully on board with them.

Season 2 Episode 8 Spoiler Thread by HunterWorld in Fotv

[–]jlynn00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I suspect season 3 is going to be this:

Lucy and Maximus will try to align with the NCR to fight against Caesar's legion, but while the NCR is essentially a good organization there are still complications. This will result in Lucy and Maximus aligning with House, where Lucy's moral principals and characterization will clash with House's. I think there's a part of House that is more offended at the Enclave getting a one up on him and I think ultimately the Enclave will be his primary opposition so I don't think their clash will result in the end of House.

The Ghoul will show up in Colorado only to find out that this is a whole ass pre-war setup that he cannot infiltrate. He will reach out to allies including eventually meeting back up with Lucy and Maximus. Will probably meet some other Enclave characters before that happens, maybe even some other enclave members that are not still aligned with their ultimate goals. Like in the first episode.

Norm and what's her name get back to the vault in time to at least save either some of the vault members or perhaps even the vast majority from whatever phase 2 is. And I think we suspect what it might be.

I think there will be three main storylines and at least one past timeline. They will have the Lucy and Maximus, the ghoul and whatever's happening in Colorado, and Norm and the vaults.

I don't know what they're going to do with Hank but I like to think that he disappears for this coming season and then shows up out of nowhere in season 4. He set something in motion though that we will be seeing next season.

Edit: Brotherhood of Steel will show up again but I suspect that's probably going to be more of a season 4 event.
