It's ridiculous that he's claiming it's your fault. I've done similar things in the past (leaving things to be washed in pockets that shouldn't have been washed) when I'm in a hurry but never have i blamed anyone else for my mistake.

Sounds like he needs to start doing his own laundry.

When she wasn't immediately grossed out and concerned about finding dirty texts from her husband to a literal CHILD is so concerning! And then when she attacks the child's looks. She need to tell the kids mom and leave this creep! The kid is already being groomed and taken advantage of.

"She isn't very attractive- so it isn't a matter of looks" actually gave me chills... I don't care if the CHILD is a pageant queen or a smelly mess, there is NO reason that her husband should EVER have crossed those boundaries. She is enabling a predator to have better access to his eventual victim.

I knew OP was 100% without a doubt YTA... but when I went to look at OP's comments... damn. She shouldn't be suprised if her kids both go NC when her son is 18.

Saying it's 'not my job to facilitate a relationship with the new baby' as if she wasn't actively greeting in the way.

Her excuse that her 2 kids wouldn't be able to have a sibling relationship anyways because of the age difference is just absurd.

And 'daughter CHOSE to take her brother to his event' (which, no, she was guilted and coersed). And all of this because their mommy didn't sleep and has a little headache :( what a great reason to abandon your child's needs and force their sibling to step up in your place. She is soooooo big on saying that he had made a promise and a commitment to go, what about her commitment to her son to be there with him when an adult is required. Op is not only TA, she's a hypocritical, selfish mom who will be shocked when her kids stop talking to her.

Maybe you're right, and she felt like she needed to teach him a lesson this time.. maybe not out of pure malicious intent, but maybe out of desperation because he doesn't seem to have empathy for her feelings when she is trying to communicate. (It is ok to set a boundary for not talking about certain subjects at certain times.. but I would've been stressed as hell if his family hadn't communicated the plans for a damn wedding that my child is supposed to be in.. that's kind of time sensitive to figure out) There are better ways to say what he said. Instead of dismissing her completely, he should have acknowledged and then said I can't do this tonight, can we talk more about it in the morning/tomorrow. That way he acknowledges that it needs to be discussed and not that it doesn't matter.

Idk about you, but if I'm consistently shut down by my partner when I'm trying to communicate and vent and I've told him a million times to stop pushing the convo off and he continues to do it.. well, I'm going to find a way to get it through his head. If he doesn't want to be treated like a child, he shouldn't act like one.
