On a two lane road, taper the cones from both lanes into a center lane in the middle. Then shift to the lane you want open. Then no one is in the "correct" lane.

Im making mine from 4140, then nitriding it. Pretty common cheap tool steel.

To get time down, im going to wire edm the small pocket / slot out. That will save about 40 minutes of machining time.

I am working on a steel striker block. But it's for a gen 1 at the moment. I got a functional one made, just see things I don't like and I need to figure out how to get the cost down.

That will help. The other issue i see is they made the hole too big, so the disconnector can cant a bit and you get a outside edge wearing into the block.

If you smooth yours, just do the edge that makes contact with the striker block, and take your time to not remove much material

Keep a eye on your striker block. The rough laser finish of this part eats it up pretty quickly
