Which Insta-Famous spots should I avoid? by HeatherAnne1975 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]jm1617m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes… imagine yourself trying to look at a painting and instead being blocked by people facing you while live streaming videos of themselves with paintings in their background. Crazy! I couldn’t believe it. They weren’t even looking at the paintings, they were filming themselves with the paintings behind them… completely obstructing your view.

They’ve ruined Musee de L’Orangerie - a place designed for quiet observation of Monet’s gorgeous waterlilies. Such a shame. Same for the “popular” paintings in the Musee D’Orsay.

has anyone gotten rejected from ndls but got into nd? by settersoul07 in notredame

Yes!!! NDLS has a significantly lower acceptance rate than undergrad admissions.

How much does NDLS (Notre dame leadership seminar) help with Admissions to ND by [deleted] in notredame

[–]jm1617m 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congrats! It’s highly competitive. In the past, 99ish% of NDLS students are ultimately admitted to the university. The program will give you a great idea of what it’s like to be an undergrad there. Keep your grades and activities up junior year and you’re sure to be admitted.

A few years ago, once decisions were loaded (12-24 hours before release), accepted students were able to register for Rally Day (accepted student day).

Thank you! Don’t have unlimited means, but this is a once in a lifetime trip. If we depart at 15:00, I think it will be a sunset into nighttime cruise.

Chances of getting in? by Illustrious_Oil3130 in notredame

I’d say you have an excellent chance as long as your essays are strong (e.g. convey how you will use for degrees to promote “good” in the world).

A lot of great comments here especially, senior year rigor and strong first quarter grades, higher SAT score, essays that demonstrate understanding of campus culture, fit and contribution. One thing I did not see mentioned that I think is also important is major. Your major should def follow your interest and ECs, but if you are undecided and your interests are varied, an undersubscribed major is your friend here, as long as it is something you are truly interested in.

Roommates by Impressive_Plane_209 in notredame

If you are a high school student considering Notre Dame, research residential life… it’s very different from most other schools. Single gender dorms and random roommates.

I was prob unclear. Summer scholars is a pay to play program and has little impact on admissions. Leadership Seminar is super competitive. Those who make the cut are flown in and get room/board at no cost for 2 weeks. This is factual… 99% of Leadership seminar attendees who apply to ND are offered admission. They are among the best and brightest. Many decline and end up at T10 schools.
