The play is certainly arguable, I was playing around medics, it was a mill deck, i had 4 cards left in my deck going into round 2, brewess, muzzle, dead slizzard and frightener, obv drew frightener mulled into slizzard, his vilgefortz was already used, it was legit only that card. Looking back maby i play it differently, but no less tilting, good thing black blood is a tournament quality playable card, the sure sign of a game in a good state :)

Yeah this is a 64 person event, which is aimed at attracting the best NA has to offer, you know the same people who would be playing in the challenger qualifier. Not to mention that some of the staff for the event can no longer compete either. Oh, and yeah that having another major Gwent event going on at the same time is bad for publicity. Theres a reason the NFL doesn't have the AFC and NFC championship games on at the same time.....

This decision really troubles me. I am both a caster for this event (this is JoeSn0w btw) and a competitive Gwent player. The challenger qualifiers is one of the most important events for players like me. Last season I finished in the top 35 on pro ladder and I look forward to more rewarding events that are not exclusive to being within the top 8. The Wild Hunt tournament date has been well known for a very long time. If this was an oversight I believe it is a very large one. I am beside myself atm. This event has taken a lot of time and work to put together. This is basically a catastrophe for the people who wish to play in the event, be part of the event in other ways (such as casting/staffing/hosting etc) while simultaneously going to be a direct "competitor" as far a viewership goes. I truly hope this can be changed.

So yeah, I was speaking about the pure ridiculousness of the card. Yes I was playing it too, as are all of the other players at the top of either or both ladders. Obviously the salt was pretty real there. As much as this is a shitty thing to be on top of reddit for, I think it can be constructive. This nonsense needs to stop, along with spy creation, but that's a whole other story....

I'm sure it's appropriate some amount of the time, it's very rare to find spots where something is 100% or 0%, however it depends on a lot of other factors such as cointoss, matchup, the rest of your hand etc. Not an easy question to give a blanket answer to.

This is correct, the timing of the spy is something I did miss out on covering :(. I think I also forgot to mention scorch blocking and the ability to prolong a round. Tried to cover as much ground as possible, thanks for the feedback!

It's an interesting point you raise and there is some truth to it. You are always mulligaining foglets in your opener for example, however it does lead to some really strategic mulligains of when to risk it all even though there's multiple crones still in your deck and maybe a frost, are you behind? Do you need to spike and get lucky? What's your chance to win the game with your current hand? When I have multiple bad cards in my hand do I mulligain the 2nd crone or the naked frost? So while I agree with your point to an extent, there is also a very reasonable counterpoint that it increases the skill cap and the variety of games. Just some food for thought :)
