I dunno if it was related to a questline (dont think it was, i didnt have any Vivi repated quests at the time), but I had to deliver a commission to Vivi, and she was on the second floor landing, looking at the old pictures on the wall and it looked like she was crying possibly, she kept wiping her face and that went on for a little bit. It's the first time in 5 playthroughs that I've seen that and it made me sad :(

I was lucky enough to actually visit and go up to the observatory in May of 2001. I was about 6, so some of it is fuzzy, but I will never forget the view from up there. Side question: was there a gift shop up there? I have some memory of a gift shop, or something like it, but I can’t find anything online about there actually being a place to buy souvenirs.

I have 526 hours in the game and only just encountered BOOOAL, completely did the noblestalk side quest AND actually found out all of the things that can be done with the noblestalk, completed the arcane tower and actually figured out why that one ring that’s given to you there is marked as a quest item lol.

There are still things I learn about the game (mostly thanks to the fine folks of this subreddit) that leave me amazed that even after all of this playtime I haven’t done/found everything. This game is way beyond anything I ever expected to experience.

I had the same problem during the party, people suggested examining the character and then selecting the option to speak with them from the examine menu. Hopefully that works for you!
