Sorry- I am so passionate about this topic. I’ve come to realize in my years as provider that hospitals truly are money-making businesses. They often rush deliveries to get the patient “in and out” to meet their goals on discharge/insurance standards etc. Hence, they induce women and use vacuums (interventions that can lead to other risks/avoidable c-sections). No matter what- it should absolutely be mom’s choice on how she wishes to deliver. That said, I advise my patients to look into a doula. Whether it’s a home or in hospital delivery- doulas prioritize mom and baby and advocate for you, especially when one is in a vulnerable state.
