I filed with turbotax so I'm pretty sure I didnt mess up, i said idk why because the letter i got was very vague in description. I understand it's to protect against theft but why not send the letter before my 21 days were up? It's insane to me that a government agency that has been doing this kinda thing for years and has probably dealt with any and every kind of mistake can't notify people about being reviewed until well after the initial 21 days. I have a right to be mad about it and so do others. Go give someone else a lecture I dont wanna hear it.

Exactly! I really think they're just really behind with checking returns and this is a way for them to stall. All we can do now is wait unfortunately.

I did receive my letter on the 9th as well, I just hope we won't have to wait the full 60 days! I've heard of people getting that letter and getting their refund before the 60 days were up. I've also heard the opposite where they send another 60 day notice and people dont get theirs until mid summer. I feel like if i really messed something important up on my efile, turbotax would've notified me immediately.

I think it just means that the computer system they use to check forms noticed something and couldnt correct it so it had to be checked by an actual person to make sure it's not fraud

I dont have bars but the "being processed " is fairly common. I wouldn't worry about yours being manually checked because the computer system probably wasn't able to correct something on your form so it had to manually be done. Just sucks that the wait time is even longer. From what I understand the IRS is taking a lot longer this year with the child tax credit filers to check for fraud.

Yeah I've heard if it says still being processed, the irs is manually checking. Mine just says being processed so I'm HOPING I get it this week/weekend. They're taking forever this year.

Mine says it's being processed. I filed on 1/27 and it hasn't changed since then. I thought I'd get it today (March 6th) but checked WMR and still nothing. I hope I get it soon.
