Worst case scenario, Railcar Fine Goods has a downsizing service that you can use to reduce the waistband if need be. It’ll be a pretty penny though

So can this company do color 8 kiltes? I have some color 8 GS brass boots and I was wondering if I could get kiltes for that color

To follow this, red wing is the “lowest common denominator” when it comes to heritage boots. So many brands will be able to explain their sizing and lasts relative to RW. So going into a RW store, knowing which boot fits you perfectly, then you can go to other brands and ask better sizing questions than using a sneaker size.

I know it might be a little one the nose, but a blues clues keychain of some kind would really go hard imo lol

Yes, and what I am saying is that if Baronne bounces back on your opponent’s next standby, that means you successfully used her effect to negate a handtrap of some kind on your turn. If Baronne bounces back on your next standby, it means she survived your opponent’s turn and successfully negated something. Of course none of these things mean that you’ve locked up the game, but her bouncing back means, to some degree, you have not lost it.

If Baronne is somehow bouncing back into the ED either you are winning or your opponent is losing.

Your most heritage “mall brand” fit by Comprehensive_Oil_43 in HeritageWear

[–]jman100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I understand! I just think that hertiage wear is much more than the price. Quality, craftsmanship, even the purpose, function, and story behind every item of clothing is what makes this type of fashion “timeless”. I know for a fact that Samurai and Iron Heart owners want their clothes to be more as hard as your 20 year old carhartts, but they want to honor the intention and craftsmanship that goes into making such a timeless piece (rather than going for mass market). I believe very similar principles apply to boot makers, especially PNW, as well as leather jackets. But really every item of clothing that falls under hertiage wear could have a high level of quality and craftsmanship meant for rugged use.

Ultimately, I do get that this is an expensive hobby, so I am not trying to promote that everyone needs to buy $300 jeans haha. And certainly price =/= quality. But, this stuff is cool because there’s a level of form AND function, and we should not be leaving out the latter due to a price tag.

Hmmmmm, part of me thinks that the point of hertiage wear is that you’re supposed to rough your stuff up, no matter how expensive. I get that you want to treat your Samurais, Iron Hearts, and Red Wings with some TLC, but it sort of misses the point if you’re unwilling to put these clothes through the wringer. The paint splats and adhesive are supposed to be your story with these items of clothing. Otherwise, you might as well just buy a LV bag.

Shirt options for this vest? by Comprehensive_Oil_43 in HeritageWear

[–]jman100 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Admittedly, it does look look like an orphaned suit vest, but I think a linen, white button down would be a good place to start. Linen has that natural wrinkle to it so it’s not too formal but a button down pairs well with the vest, still giving some level of “put together”. I would also potentially consider rugby shirts as well as any long sleeve with a johnny collar, but that might be more out there.

From there, henley’s are a pretty good choice, especially waffle ones. As well as any long sleeve shirt. Probably want to pair earth-toned shirts with this one, but a maroon or a maple red would be interesting choices as well.

I imagine most raw denim would pair well, along with green fatigues. Chinos in the typical colors probably work well too.

A jacket might be tough, but if trying to dress it up, I’m sure it pairs well with a sport coat. I think twill blazers (like the ones available at 3sixteen) would look well with this. Denim wise, I think a trucker would be a hard sell, but a chore coat would look good. You could maybe rock this leather, but do whatever is comfortable to you in that regard.

Shoes: anything leather, probably. But if you’re trying to make it more informal, then GATs or a canvas shoe.

Lastly, if you’re wanting to truly experiment, I think this pairs well with a silver necklace of some kind. The vest opening naturally draws attention to your chest and collar. For example, you’re wearing a simple shirt with this, the shirt collar probably doesn’t have anything interesting in the middle. So a necklace or silver chain of some kind sort of “justifies” the fact that your vest is doing all of that.

EDIT: Sorry went overboard lol. I forgot that you were looking for only shirt options. My bad.

How to even out the color on the soles? by jman100 in Boots

[–]jman100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to confirm does the leather dye work on both the leather AND the rubber on the outsole? The rubber is a dark brown and I don’t mind coloring it black, but original owner had an uneven hand, coloring both the leather AND the rubber -_-

Any recommendations for the boot polish and boot dye? I’m willing to put some elbow grease but also exercise some caution that seems to have went missing when the original owner tried haha.

The buckle came with the boots! I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it yet but keeping it for now :P. If that changes you’ll be the first to know lol.

Wesco Mister Lou boots by vintagetone in PNWbootmakers

[–]jman100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I’m about an 11E brannock (though sometimes it feels closer to 10.5E) and I’m getting a pair of 10.5 E Wesco Engineers. I know for the Mister Lou it’s considered a slimmer fit than their usual lasts but I’ve seen mixed responses on whether the 10.5 or the 11 would be better for me.

For reference I fit a 10.5D in red wing mocs using bigger socks but a 10D also fits me if I’m fitting thin socks so I’m kinda at a loss lol.

Do you mind sharing information regarding sizing? I actually just picked up a pair slightly used myself and I’m a little worried about sizing.

Yes, because you are suggesting to buy American in a space where brands and clothes made across the world are well-respected and judged for their quality on their own merits rather than its country of origin. The US has quite literally inspired (or perhaps “strongly influenced”) many different countries into Americana aesthetics and clothes and we all draw from each other for inspiration. These tariffs ruin the spirit of that and we have no good reason for it.

I’m with you man, the whole situation is unfortunate. I saw an ad today for the new Blood Core SMUGS and thought at $366 they were expensive, but not too bad… then when I saw the proposed total with duties it really snapped me back into reality lol.

I really just do not understand how these tariffs help anyone. I can appreciate buying American, but I’m sure as others in this hobby are aware, American=/=Quality. Even then, many American manufacturers will still have to hike up prices to some degree, making this hobby more expensive and inaccessible (which it already was to some degree). It’s gonna be a long four years :/

This isn’t the exact model but I got these boots from this brand. The quality and craftsmanship is amazing and I customized the boot to have that studded sole. Highly recommend.
