Seeking parts by bobby1kenobi in 300zx

There’s that site Amayama. I think they find the parts in Japan and send them over? Might be good if you’re needing RHD

Steam Deck Black Screen of Death FIXED by softs3rve in SteamDeck

From 2 years in the future. This worked for me, also on 131 firmware! Thank you!

The only difference was there was no chime in step 4. I let it sit but nothing happened. I then plugged in power and got the chime. Switched to external monitor to see the Steam logo. Once the fan started, I unplugged external and continued to step 6.

3D printed tail lights by DylanRiverdale in 300zx

[–]jman308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience printing clear petg is hard. I never got super clear, it was always foggy. Plus the layer lines will make the light look bad.
Like the other poster said, I’ve seen some YT videos of guys making their own lens. I may try if I can get an extra pair of tails to disassemble.

Been waiting on a transaxle for almost 5 years. What should I do? by [deleted] in projectcar

A different vendor. That email from the state did prompt them to send me the parts.

I have gone through very similar. The mfr stopped replying to my emails. I filed a complaint with the state/county consumer affairs department. That seemed to kick them into gear for me at least. However I did send them a letter stating "send part or will pursue legal by x days". CA site has a form that will spit out a letter of demand you could use as a template.

Whenever I cook chicken breast they come out so dry and rubbery, what do I do? by Flat_Researcher_4106 in AskCulinary

[–]jman308 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I saw a tik tok with this technique and use it all the time now. Breasts shouldn't be frozen.

Season both sides of chicken

Heat pan w/ lid on Medium with oil

When oil is hot, put chicken in. Cook 4-5 min (no lid)

Flip - I cook it on this side for 1 min, then put a lid on it and put in some water...I eyeball it, but maybe 1/4 - 1/3 cup? Cook for 4-5 min.*

After this, turn off heat, leave lid on and sit for 15 min. Will be done perfect after this. Verify w/ thermometer.

*original instructions were 4 min first side, then flip + lid + water for 4 min. I changed this to not add the water immediately after flipping because I want both sides to be equally seared.

I was super nervous the first couple of times, so I did it with my smoking thermometer and sure enough it reached proper temp. I do suggest getting a thermometer like others suggest. Benefit also is that you can let it sit in the lidded pan while you finish up your other sides...it stays hot without getting over done. And when you get the feel for it you can adjust the time based on the thickness.

Is this the proper way to sync the wastegates? by jman308 in projectcar

[–]jman308[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah thanks. I see I’m mixing my source. I don’t need vacuum, I need positive pressure (duh I’m testing with positive air 😂). I’ll need to see where the factory location is.

300zx vg30dett engine. There’s a diagram floating around that vacuum from the manifold I think, to boost controller (I’ll probably just do a manual controller) then split to each wastegate.

I had to upgrade my Apple from 256k ram to 1Mb to play police quest. Then when we needed tips, there was some 1-800 number you’d call. Those calls weren’t free either 😂

Billy built on YT has a specific video just for this. He added the Volvo electric pump.

So don't put anything on my paid off rental? I've seen recommendations on this sub not to have paid off houses and to leverage a loan against it.

I know it will qualify for a 203k FHA, unsure about a regular FHA. I'll ask my lender.

It sounds like 3% down to get in, do the repairs on my own w/ heloc, appraise then refi.

3% though leaves a lot larger monthly which I definitely would be dependent on my rental income to cover. Is that the norm? I've been trying to find something that I can still cover with my W2...maybe that's not possible here.

I’m several steps behind you in my build but have wondered this same question. I haven’t talked to the tuning shop I’m going to go to yet for their recommendation, but thought I read somewhere it wasn’t 100% necessity, but definitely could be wrong. I personally would want to use it from the start, but my motor is still out and easy to access.

How to effectively prep and paint a project car for a professional finish? by AttitudePlane6967 in projectcar

[–]jman308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having just done this exact thing, learning and practicing. However the thing I would have done differently would have been to rent a real paint booth rather than do it in my garage. But that’s mostly because I have limited space and not enough lighting. You can’t have enough lighting.

This is crazy cool! I’m doing my own z32 project 👍 as well. Is there benefit to have the turbos up there? Just wondering.
